Dearly beloved of Christ Jesus, Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. First of all, I had a wonderful time with my eldest and his bride in Richmond, Va., where he is a professor at St. Catherine’s Episcopal Preparatory School. It was great for Christine and me to spend time with both Grey and Seth. We also had the death of one of our extended family, Alvin Kidd, who is one of our friends from our Thursday visits to the Hope Connection. We have come to love and care about Alvin over the past five plus years. Alvin was physically challenged, unable to walk or talk well. He was seen around town on his bicycle. He became an artist and a member of our Family of St. Paul’s made sure he had supplies to pursue his joy. He freely gave his artwork away as gift from his heart. You can see some of his artwork in the Church Kitchen (and in this e-epistle). May the Lord bless them and keep them.
Paul

A Message from your Senior Warden I hope all of you have had the opportunity to look around our Church property at the marvelous tree trimming we have had done. I really want to give Jonathan Henderson and his committee a big “THANK YOU” for taking on this project, raising money and seeing it through. Great Job folks! Our roofing project is scheduled to begin next week and I hope everyone will be patient while this very large job is going on. It may be an inconvenience to some, but wait until it is finished and marvel in the beauty of a wonderful new roof that will enhance
our Church property. Many thanks go out also to Caldwell Roberts for his expertise in working with the Insurance Company and the Contractor who will be doing the work. Thank you, Caldwell, for a job well done! Yours in Christ, Gene Young, Senior Warden
The Acolyte and the Wardens’ Room bathroom will be under construction due to remodeling from April 20th - April 29th. We apologize in advance

joke of the week A preacher was completing a temperance sermon: with great expression he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river." With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river." And then finally, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river." He sat down. The song leader then stood very cautiously and announced with a smile, "For our closing song, let us sing Hymn # 365: "Shall We Gather at the River."
