When a new firmware update is available or your receiver becomes unresponsive, you should follow the steps below to execute a firmware flash:

• Download the latest version of DeviceInstaller application:http://ltxfaq.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/644

• Install the tool (allow for elevated rights if asked).

• Allow the setup program to install optional components (like .NET Framework) ifneeded.

• Once the setup has finished, run the application. You may see this warning:

• You will now enter the application's main window:

• On the upper left side you will see the detected IP address of your receiver:

• Click on it and the device details will be displayed on the right side of theapplication window:

• Now look at the device summary and determine the hardware revision and theexisting firmware version as shown below:

• Go to this page: http://www.lantronix.com/support/downloads/?p=XPORTClick on the appropriate hardware revision link and download the latest.rom firmware and .cob web interface files for your receiver*.

*X03 and X04 hardware revisions share the same firmware files.

WARNINGIF YOU UPLOAD THE WRONG FILES IN

YOUR RECEIVER THE UNIT WILL BECOME UNUSABLE AND / OR DAMAGED!!!

• Save the files on your Desktop.On the application's main window click on the Upgrade option.

• You will see the following window :

• Leave the selection as is and click Next:

• Click on the Browse button and point the program to the .rom firmware file youhave downloaded earlier. When finished, click on the Next button:

• Select Install files contained in COB partitions and click Next:

• Select Partition #1 and click Set Partition.

• A browse window will appear. Point the program to the .cob file you havedownloaded earlier.Ignore the image size warning and click Yes.

• You’ll be presented with the above window. Click Next.

• Click Next.

• The firmware update process will initiate. Provided that the procedure finishessuccessfully you should see the following:

• Click on the Close button to close the upgrade window. Return to theapplication's main window to verify that the receiver is discoverable and the newfirmware version has been successfully uploaded.
