Focused concentration, determination and persistence, along with demonstrated individual and team competitiveness is why Jonas is our Student-Athleteof the month.

A cheerleader is someone who encourages and cheers someone on. Betsy is the epitome of that. She has a kind heart and a beautiful smile. Betsy works hard at both her academic and cheer responsibilities. She is a wonderful teammate and is an easy-to-coach athlete because of her hard work ethic.

Ashlyn YowGirls Basketball

Ashlyn had a tremendous end of the season, leading our team to 12 straight wins and earning a First-Team All Conference honor along the way.

Morgan RaikesSnowboarding

Morgan had an incredible first year earning an All-Conference team spot and a 3rd place overall conference medal for Boardercross. Making it to the finals at every race, she earned a silver medal at a regional event and represented Waukesha at the State championship. She has earned her place as one of the snowboard team’s rising stars.

As a first year racer, Noah has earned his place in the finals for 3 out of the 4 events this year, including 1 podium finish. Congrats on an outstanding first year and many more to come!

Gunnar is a tireless worker that commits fully to whatever the team needs. He stepped up in a big way down the last stretch of the season finishing as an All-Conference wrestler in only his second year in the sport

Art

Annika is an amazing student. She tackles every photography assignment with creativity every step of the way. Annika is not afraid to try something new often resulting in amazing photographs. I'm lucky to be able to work with such a talented young artist.

Oliver Nienas

Business Oliver is a phenomenal young man. Although he is naturally intelligent, he continues to have high expectations for himself. Oliver continues to amaze me with his quest for learning. He works diligently towards his success in every class. And, he possesses a delightful personality with a great sense of humor. Oliver also has a compassionate heart. Oliver Nienas is the "entire package". Both rare and extraordinary. Oliver Nienas makes us all proud of having him as a student at Waukesha West High School. ~ Mrs. Dellis

English Mykayla is exemplary young person. Her quality of work and engagement are unparalleled, and she is welcoming and open. In a very full classroom of very talented young people, Mykayla commands attention; she demonstrates and delivers excellence each day.

Andrew Spencer

Family & Consumer Science Andy is an excellent student and role model for his peers. He consistently engages class, leads with cooking in his kitchen group, and keeps us laughing as he does. Andy is so polite and is frequently going above and beyond what is asked of him, just to be kind and helpful. Andy is very humble, so his help may go unnoticed to many. But, it has been much appreciated by myself and his peers. Keep up the great work Andy! ~ Mrs. Hoeft

Foreign Language Sydney has proven that hard work over many years pays off. She is a strong French student who excels in all areas of the language and is not slowing down her senior year. Sydney comes to class ready learn with an open mind and determination to do her best. On est fier de toi!

Parker did an amazing job while virtual and continues to be amazing back in the class. He is a very kind person and always has a smile, a great attitude and willing to help anyone in need!

Math Bryant goes about his classwork with a deeply developed work ethic. He has tackled a recent project with gusto and produces quality work with little assistance. He is a model of quiet excellence!

Charlie Messplay

Music Charlie is a natural musician who has enthusiasm and determination in any musical endeavor. They are a rock solid bassist in the Orchestra, and they are currently learning new instruments on their own time. Charlie's personality is positive and welcoming, which makes them a great leader in an ensemble.

Phy Ed Kaden works hard each and every day in Strength. She asks great questions and always responds to a challenge with her best effort. Her positive attitude, great sense of humor, and kind heart serve as a valuable piece not only to our class but to all of her peers at Waukesha West. And she is always smiling! Keep up the good work Kaden!

Science Amya is a very hard worker. She always has a positive attitude and works so well with others. I can't see her smile but her eyes smile all the time. She is a pleasure to be around.

Social Studies Myra Stray is an absolute rockstar in AP Psychology. She is kind, exceptionally thoughtful, highly motivated, and always willing to collaborate with her classmates. On a long list of impressive attributes, perhaps most noteworthy is Myra’s relentless pursuit of knowledge - she consistently embraces opportunities to question more, to understand more, and to learn more. I’m lucky to work with her!

Tech Ed I have had Tony in Autos for several years now. He always comes to class with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and great sense of humor. Tony is always there to finish projects that need to be completed and lend a helping hand to others. I see great things in his future!

Thomas Henley

TREK

Thomas did an amazing job setting up the 3D printer for TREK and has really dove into what it can do by printing various objects from bird wings to big old castles. I look forward to watching him learn and experiment with the printer more and eventually start to design his own 3D objects! Keep up the curiosity!

Wolverine Award Owen is polite, kind, and helpful to teachers and peers. He participates in all of his classes, is organized, and shows that he is responsible. Owen asks good questions in class and communicates with his teachers outside of class.

Berkeley KrellAcademic Decathlon

Aside from the personality she brings to each meeting and competition, Berkeley has also propelled our team toward success at each level of competition, including the recent State event.

Josie joined the Fishing Club last year and has not missed an outing. She is excited to learn and try new things every time we are out. She brings an extra feeling of joy to each event.

Gywnn ShawgerG.S.A. (Gay-Straight Alliance)

Gwynn is always so warm and welcoming. She is understanding and compassionate and such a joy to be around. She helps GSA to be the safe, welcoming space that it is and has a huge impact on our school community by modeling for her peers what it means to be truly accepting of everyone. She is also always so helpful and hard working.

Ben has been a regular on our Friday night trips for four years now. We enjoy his easy going nature when we chat in the chalet and can see his passion for the sport when he hits the slopes. He is willing to share his knowledge with anyone in need. He will be missed next year!
