9:05 ADULT STUDY - HOW DID WE GET THE BIBLE

The Bible is not just one big book that God handed down to humanity.

Instead, it is a collection of 66 books written by about 40 authors over a

period of 1400 years. If that's the case, how did we get the Bible in its

present form? Why are some books "in" and yet others were left "out"? How

do we know that what we have is from God himself and not just words

written by humanity? Join us for this 5 week study starting Sunday, March 17,

at 9:05am in Hasz Hall (at the school) as we explore how we got the Bible.

YSLETA CHILI DINNER FUNDRAISER - LAST CHACNE FOR A FEE TICKET!

Time to warm up with some chili! On Sunday, March 17 at 6:00pm,

come enjoy Saint Patrick’s day in the Saint Paul school gym with

homemade chili, mac and cheese (and hot dogs for non-chili diets).

Our Spring 2019 Ysleta team is inviting you to come for a free dinner to

help us kick off our mission trip.

THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO GET YOUR FREE TICKET (one per person) at the church

welcome center or at the school office by Monday, March 11. Have some fun and enjoy

some great food! And if you want to drop a donation in the basket, that would be okay

with us! Any donations will help pay for our food on the mission trip!

encouraging it is to hear of answered prayer! Please write us a note to let us know how

things are progressing and how we can continue in our prayers for you.

WE ARE HERE, INSTALLED, AND READY TO GO!

Greetings from your missionaries in the Czech Republic. We have both made it here and are

THANK YOU SAINT PAUL!

The 7/8 grade girls’ and boys’ basketball teams would like to thank everyone who came out

to support us at the State Basketball Tournament last weekend. We were overwhelmed by

all of the support. The noise level at both boys’ games at Roselle on Saturday was

deafening. The support for the girls’ Championship game was so great, the gym was

“Standing Room Only”. Saint Paul was also awarded the Sportsmanship trophy. This award

goes not only to the teams, but to the Saint Paul Lutheran School AND Church’s amazing

and supportive fans!

DO YOU CROCHET?

Our mission team headed to Africa in May is hoping to take 2,000 witness

puppets with them to help in sharing the Good News of Jesus. We have

yarn and the pattern – we just need your talent and time. We have had

many ask for the pattern so far and could still always use more helping

hands! Contact the church office for more information or to get a copy

of the pattern.

DO YOU LIKE TO SEW?

The Saint Paul Eye Glass Mission Team is seeking sewers to

be a part of their mission project. The team will give a

handmade fabric eyeglass case to each person in South

Africa who receives a pair of eyeglasses. If you enjoy

sewing and would like to help by making eyeglass cases,

please email Sue Husar <[email protected]> for an

instruction sheet. The pattern is easy! You can use your

own fabric scraps or pick up some in the bin by the

nursery. Please return the finished cases to the bin by Saturday, May 4. Any amount you

can sew will be greatly appreciated by the team and by those who are given the gift of

sight in His name.

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS FOR MARCH

For the month of March, we are asking members whose last name begins with I, J, K, or L, or

any who have a heart for this ministry to contribute. If you know of someone who is in need

of food supplies, please let them know they can use our food pantry during church service

times or during the week by visiting the church office.

WHEELING TOWNSHIP

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the staff and residents of Wheeling Township, we would

like to express our gratitude for your thoughtful donation of food on January 28, 2019. Your

contribution will make sure that residents in need will be assisted. Your commitment and

generosity to our community is greatly appreciated. Thank you again for assisting us in

fulfilling our mission of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”.

Sincerely, Kathleen Penner (supervisor) & Julie Villarreal (director of general assistance)

DO YOU HAVE AN UP-TO-DATE AND VALID WILL?

If the answer is “Yes”, you’ve accomplished what many people never quite get around to

doing. Or, you may be one of many people who have been avoiding writing or updating

your will for many years. Some reasons people give for not writing a will:

I don’t have an attorney who can draft my will.

I don’t want to deal with the subject of death.

I can’t afford to have my will done.

I am too young to have a will, I’ll do it when I’m older.

My estate is too small to have a will.

I don’t need a will, my survivors can make the decisions.

If any of these apply to you, you may want to contact Ray Pagels, our Gift Planning

Counselor for free, confidential assistance. He can help you understand why any of these

reasons can fail to justify the absence of a will. He can help you plan gifts to your family

and identify effective ways to transfer the blessing in the best possible way. If you would like

assistance in writing your will, contact Ray at 847-226-2262 or email [email protected].

MOUNT PROSPECT HISTORICAL SOCIETY

LAUNCHES HISTORY-THEMED SUMMER CAMP

The Mount Prospect Historical Society is pleased to announce a new phase in its

programming. This summer two sessions of History Camp will be offered in June and July.

The week-long sessions will be held the second week of each month (June 10-14, 2019 and

July 8-12, 2019) and each feature a local history themed day camp experience for children

ages 6 to 12. Different aspect of local history will be explored each day on the Society's

campus and at various community locations through activities, projects and walking field

trips. Each week's programming is diverse, so campers registering for both sessions will

have new experiences.

History Camp was developed by trained educators and is overseen by Lindsay Rice, the

Society's Executive Director. "We're excited to be launching this new program," said Rice.

"It's a fun way to showcase the history of our community so kids can learn about it in a

hands-on, interactive way."

History Camp sessions will run from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $100 per camper, per week.

Space is limited, so don’t miss this exciting opportunity! Reservations may be made through

the Society's web-site at www.mtphist.org/hisotry-camp-2019 or by calling the Society at

847-392-9006.

All of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Mount Prospect Historical Society’s

Operating Fund.
