True Nation Congregation“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32
Over the years, we have been asked repeat-edly two questions regarding calendar dis-crepancies, “why do the dates of the
Lord’s feasts differ from congregation to congre-gation?” and “why do they also differ from thefeast dates of the false Jews (the Caucasians thatembrace Judaism and are not the true descen-dants of the Israelites)?” The bottom line why thedates differ is due to improper calculation. As wecontinue to diligently research and study theheavenly instruments (the sun, moon, stars), theMost High is constantly revealing to us how tocorrectly determine signs, days, seasons, monthsand years (Genesis 1:14-19; Psalms 104:19), wehave uncovered many flaws and commonly mademistakes when calculating the dates of the MostHigh’s feasts.
Incorrect Calculation of the New MoonUnderstanding when the moon becomes new(completely dark) is key since the “new moon”determines the beginning (1st day) of eachmonth. The new moon determines how to calcu-late the dates of the feast days in their respectivemonths (Ecclesiasticus 43:6-9). Many people re-fer to the NASA Astronomy or the Naval Observa-tory websites and simply use the new moon datesthey provide for each year. Though the moonphase calculations on these sites are very accu-rate, it is important to have some basic knowl-edge of how they calculate the moon phases. Wemust first understand that scientists and astrono-
Clearing Up Calendar Discrepanciesmers use the moon phases for scientific purposes andnot for the determination of when to keep the feastsof the Most High. When using the moon phase datesthey provide, you must pay attention to the time ofthe day they calculate the new moon to actually ap-pear “new.” For example, the following is a commonmistake:
New Moon Date – May 7 at 19:31 (7:31 p.m.)New Moon Date – June 6 at 00:31 (12:31 a.m.)
Using these dates, one will observe the new moon atsundown on May 7 and sundown on June 6. Buthere’s the problem, the new moon for June 6 appears“new” at 12:31 a.m. Remember, the Most High com-mands that a day be from evening to evening (Genesis1:5; Leviticus 23:32). Science claims that a new daybegins at 12 midnight (Daniel 7:25) which wouldcause many to incorrectly keep the new moon atsundown June 6, almost 24 hours later after it ap-peared new and in fact would be the evening of thesecond day of the month (1 Samuel 20:24-27). Sincea new day should begin at evening (sundown), itwould be incorrect to wait until midnight to celebratethe new moon. Instead, it should be kept at sundownon June 5 since the moon becomes officially new onlyseveral hours later of that evening at 12:31 a.m. If youuse the “copy and paste the date” method and cele-brate the new moon on the evening of June 6 insteadof June 5, it will cause you to keep the Lord’s feastsone day later than when they should be kept. Fur-
thermore, you should accustom yourself to verifythe calculations by physically observing the moonfor yourself.
NOTE: The moon is continuously goingthrough its phases everyday throughoutthe month and because a new day beginsat evening, the moon phases may notalways coincide exactly at sundowntherefore you must take note of the hourthe particular moon phase will be visible. Also, note that times will differ dependingon your time zone. Most astronomy web-sites use GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)also known as Universal Time so you mustcalculate accordingly. For more info onthe new moon, visit the “Holy Days” sec-tion of our website:truenation.org/portfolio-view/feast-days-new-test/.
Keeping the Abib (1st month/New Moonof the year) in the Proper SeasonThe scriptures command that the month of Abib(which means “green ear” and signifies the springseason when crops begin to “spring” up and all ofthe heavenly instruments make their shift in theheavens to alert us that seasons are changing)MUST fall in the SPRING season without exception(Exodus 12:2; Exodus 13:4; Exodus 23:15; Num-bers 9:2). This sets the stage for all of the feaststhroughout the year to occur in their proper time

and season. The month of Abib (1st month) MUSTcoincide with the season of spring. A good indicationof the spring season is identified by theVernal/Spring Equinox, which occurs around March20th but could occur slightly earlier or later. Becausethe solar year is slightly longer than the lunar year, every 3 years or so twelve lunar months (newmoons) will expire before spring begins. When thishappens, we wait ONE new moon/month which iscalled a “leap month” or “intercalary” month. Theintercalary month occurs because there are “lunar”and “solar” aspects to our Hebrew calendar. Thelunar and solar aspects CANNOT be set apart onefrom the other, Genesis 1:14 “let THEM be for signs, seasons, days and years….” This will allow the lunarmoon cycles to correspond with the solar days andseasons. An easy way to determine when this willhappen is when two new moons will appear in ONEcalendar or solar month. This event is called a “BLUEMOON,” a term which also refers to 4 full moonsappearing in ONE season and has nothing to do withthe moon’s color. Since many only observe thelunar aspect of the calendar, they have little to noknowledge of this process. However, without thesolar aspect, one will end up keeping the feasts and“new year” all throughout the year and outside oftheir commanded seasons. It is important that thefeasts be kept in their proper season because, if youdon’t, your oversight of the scriptural essentials cancause the feast days to be observed on the wrongdates.
Judaism TraditionFollowing Judaism tradition, which is not scriptural, has also caused many to keep the feasts on different
dates. Although they use the same method fordetermining the feast dates, they have also in-fused their own rabbinic traditions into theirreligion of Judaism. For one, they observe thenew moon as being the “first crescent” or“waxing crescent” (2nd day of the month) whichis not according to the scriptures (Ecclesiasticus43:6-9). They also move feast dates around ifthey feel it restricts them from keeping theirother unscriptural customs (Daniel 7:25; Acts5:29; Titus 1:14; Mark 7:9). Also, many attemptsto use Pseudepigrapha (which means FALSE orfake) books like the book of Enoch and the bookof Jubilees which contain calendars that ARENOT in agreement with the scriptures. Avoidthem!!
Examine/Research For YourselfIf you do not thoroughly examine and researchfor yourself, you may not be keeping the feastsin their proper season or on the correct day. Doyour own research and educate yourself aboutthe heavenly instruments that God gave us astools to assist us with our walk in Christ and tobetter apply the commandments given unto us.2 Timothy 2:15: “Study to shew thyself approvedunto God, a workman that needeth not to beashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”Proverbs 14:15: “The simple believeth everyword: but the prudent man looketh well to hisgoing.”
In times past, we too have used some of theabove methods and we sincerely apologize andrepent for having possibly caused any confusion.
Our intentions are only to serve the Lord with apure conscience and, through the will of Christ, provide our people with a better explanation andunderstanding of the scriptures they follow andthe laws we are to abide by. For more informa-tion, please contact us at [email protected].
Proverbs 25:2: “It is the glory of God to conceal athing: but the honour of kings is to search out amatter.”
When exactly is “sundown/evening?”There is often a misunderstanding as to whensundown/evening occurs. Sundown/evening endsa day and marks the beginning of the next day.Genesis 1:5. The day begins and ends when thelight of the sun is no longer visible (meaning it iscompletely dark). Proverbs 7:9.
When is the 7th Day Sabbath of the week? The 7th Day Sabbath is from Friday sundown toSaturday sundown. Some erroneously use themoon to calculate the 7th Day Sabbath. We mustunderstand that the moon determines the days ofthe months, NOT the days of the week. The mod-ern-day calendar showing Saturday as the 7th dayof the week is correct. The Julian calendar thatwas in existence during the time of Christ clearlyshowed the 7th day of the week as “Sabado”which is the Latin word for Sabbath which namewas later changed to Saturday (Day of Saturn).Sunday has always been recognized as the first dayof the week in the Gospels. (Matthew 28:1).

MARCH 2019
2nd ADARA 2nd Adar or “intercalary” month isinserted every three years or so when thetwelfth month of the year expires and thefirst month appears before spring begins.Because the scriptures command that wemust keep the first month of the year in theSpring season (Abib Exodus 12:2,Deuteronomy 16:1), we must wait until thenext new moon that occurs properly in thespring season to count as the first month ofthe year. If you fail to do this and recognizeevery new moon that appears after thetwelfth month as the first month, you willfind that you will be keeping the first monthof the year throughout all the seasons andultimately keeping the feast days in thewrong season (Leviticus 23:4).
