Children can benefit from early child-

hood education in many ways. Early childhood

education is the first step toward a bright and over-

all successful life. Children are extremely curious

and learn best by hands on experience. They want

their voices to be heard and to have a say in deci-

sion making. This helps them learn communica-

tion skills to use every day. This also improves

their daily task skills and gives them an under-

standing of the world around them.

Team work is an important skill for

children to learn at a young age because it is a

necessary skill to use on a day to day basis. At an

early childhood education center, children can

interact with their own age group and learn how to

help others perform a common task. Children

demand a lot of time and attention and early child-

hood education is a fundamental part of their

development. Children will engage in outside

playtime, inside free time, as well as structured

learning experiences. Children will develop benefi-

cial new abilities and existing abilities will improve

with practice. The time a child spends in an early

childhood education program has a positive impact

on a child’s life for years to come.

Seffner Christian Academy is a PreKindergarten

through 12th grade private, Christian school located east of

Tampa. With almost 700 students, SCA is dedicated to

integrating the Word of God into each subject to develop

students of integrity with a challenging program relevant to

the 21st century learner. Accredited by ACSI (American

Association of Christian Schools International) and SACS

(Southern Association of Colleges and Schools). Students

benefit from a qualified and certified teaching faculty and

an experienced team of administrators. The technology

program strives to prepare students for the ever changing

technological culture they live in. Along with other tools of

educational technology, grade level iPad labs are utilized in

K4-3rd grade and individual iPads are utilized in 4th-12th

grade.

The early learning center (K2-K4) and elementary

program (K5-5th grade) provide a strong curriculum of

Bible, math, reading, phonics, grammar, writing, spelling,

history, and science as well as art, music, library, comput-

er/technology, and physical education. An engaging

science coach provides opportunities for hands-on experi-

mentation. The use of center based teaching methods adds

opportunities for student collaboration, creation, and inno-

vation.

The middle and high school programs provide a

consistent and loving environment for students in which to

flourish with sound academics, spiritual guidance, and a

variety of students activities. The program seeks to be

distinctively Christian in all that is done; while providing

the strongest education possible. The academic curriculum

offers a challenging and diverse program that prepares

students to take the next step into high school, college, and

beyond. The program stresses independence and college

opportunities are avail-

able for students who meet

established criteria. SCA grad-

uates traditionally exceed state

requirements for graduation making them competitive candi-

dates for college acceptance. SCA graduates have been

accepted into many Christian and secular colleges across the

nation. The class of 2015 received over $2.1 million in

college scholarships.

SCA students may participate in the comprehensive

fine arts program by auditioning for choir, ensemble, drama,

or concert band. Students also have the opportunity for

educational travel abroad in Europe, mission trips and

service projects. SCA’s FHSAA (Division 3A) athletic

program offers a broad range of competitive athletics: Girls’

Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Track, and

Cross Country. Boys’ Football, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball,

Tennis, Track, and Cross Country.
