CO-PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
Fellow AGNers, We would like to encourage you to attend our "general meeting" in March. It will be a great time and I know you will enjoy the program. We will have a lunch meal, our 50/50 drawing and we hope our activity leaders will be there to share and then our feature of the day is the program. You will be informed and entertained by a long-time resident and historian of New Bern, Ms. Alma Gibbons. She will offer a personal account of life in New Bern before and after the Civil War through the eyes of Miss Ida Marsh, an entirely fictitious character. You don't want to miss this. Again, please peruse the newsletter to get the details and mark your calendar. We look forward to seeing you.
Thanks to all our activity leaders and board members for what you do to give all of us some great stuff to do. You make the difference. Those of you who have not volunteered to help, please consider it. With new people, come new ideas and we like new ideas. Just email us and let us know what you would like to do. Please remember every member is welcome to come to our Board Meetings each month. We especially hope our Activity Leaders will come. We will meet NOT meet in March but will meet on April 10th. The location is McCarthy Place on McCarthy. Just email me if you need directions. We really enjoyed having some of our activity leaders come to the February meeting and share about some of the great stuff being offered. Some of us usually go out to eat afterwards and we would be glad to have you. Make your reservation early for our March AGN general meeting. The Deadline is upon us and we need you to support this event. Thanks in advance. Blessings, The [email protected]

GOLF GROUP (AGN/Newcomers)
The March golf outing will be held at Cherry Golf Sound of Freedom golf course.
Date for this outing is Thursday March 13th. We have tee times starting at 10:00 AM. The cost will be $36.
As this is a military post, we have security procedures in order to get on the post.Jon Miller and Mark Leonard have base stickers on their cars and they can get onto the post. They can take 3 other members with them and sign them in at the entrance. If anyone else has a post sticker and can car pool, please let me know. If players are in the same car as an ID card holder with a base sticker on the car then they just need to have a photo ID (like a license ) and go right through the gate. If players are in a car without a base sticker they need to stop at the front gate pass building, have an ID card holder sign them in and they get a temporary car pass.EVERYONE NEEDS A PHOTO ID. EVERYONE NEEDS TO MEET AT THE PARKING LOT BEHIND THE BELK DEPARTMENT STORE AT 8:45 AM.
We will be able to see how many we have and how many base sticker cars we have and how many will need to stop and get checked in. This will help to get everyone onto the post efficiently. WE WILL LEAVE THE PARKING LOT PROMPTLY AT 9:00 AM. Please email me if you plan to attend or call my cell 330-327-0111. We have 5 tee times.

MARCH BOATERS GROUP EVENT Tour Grady White Boat Company and Lunch at Starlight Café Greenville
The term Grady-‐Built means there's no other sportfishing boat built like a Grady-‐White. Period. Grady-‐White boats are products of a unique combination of North Carolina's saltwater heritage, a culture of long-‐term private ownership, a dedication to safety, and a keen knowledge of sportfishing gained over years of experience. "Good enough" just isn't good enough for a Grady. We build security into our boats we hope our owners never have to put to the test. (Grady White web-‐site)

WINE TASTING
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Come on down to Lawson’s Landing at the History Center to celebrate Mardi Gras on Tuesday March 4th at 6 p.m. We are short of our minimum number right now. Since they are opening for our special party, it is necessary to meet the number requirement.
It should be a great party with Priscilla doing the pairing and presentation. The menu will be a really fun New Orleansy mix starting with shrimp remoulade and deviled eggs, followed by ham and corn beignets drizzled with a maple pecan sauce, muffaletta sandwich, cajun BBQ meatballs and bread pudding with whiskey sauce. Foods will not be too spicey!!!
If you are feeling festive, come in your Mardi Gras finery: beads, masks, boas, whatever fun and crazy clothes you like or just come as you are. It should really be a great evening. Other special touches too!
The cost to you with the subsidy is $27.50 per person. Make checks out to AGN Wine Club and send to Paul Merriman asap at 803 Crane Dr. New Bern NC 28560. Deadline is Feb 27th, but we’d like to know that we have enough to make it work sooner. Questions, call Dee Dricks 633-9671. April event TBA. Harvey Mansion is planning another wine tasting on May 21st similar to the last one. I know everyone had a great time. We can make that our end of year event if the group would like a return visit. So, give Dee your feedback. [email protected]
