March 14, 2020 - Virtual Worship Service: What to Expect Please participate in our Virtual Worship Service on March 15, 22 & 29, Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Worship will be led by our pastors and music minister and streamed live via Facebook from the sanctuary. Virtual Worship FAQ's Can I participate if I don't have a Facebook account? YES! Anyone with an internet connection can access Virtual Worship. On a smart phone or tablet or laptop or desktop computer, simply click here on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Choose "not now" if you don't want to create a new account and then scroll down a bit to find the Virtual Worship Service. What will the service be like? The service will begin on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and contain the basic elements of our typical service. It will include prayers, scripture, passing the peace, sermon, Time with Young Disciples and offertory. Worshippers will be invited to participate in singing and with emojis. How will I follow along? The March 15 worship bulletin is here, and the First Things First bulletin insert for March 15 is here. If you know how to use a split screen, it might be helpful to have Facebook on one side and the bulletin on the other side. (And no worries if you don't!) How long is the Virtual Worship Service? Worship is typically about an hour. Will we continue to record our attendance in some way? Yes. Please sign our virtual welcome folder here so that we know you are participating. What should I do about my offering while the church building is closed?

You may submit your offering online here. During this time of suspended face-to-face worship, it is important to continue to send your offering and pledgecontributions to the church online via this link , online through your bank, or viasnail mail to First UMC, 516 Church Street, Evanston IL 60201. Thank you! I prefer to worship in person. Can I come to the church on Sunday?No. The church building is closed. We seek to follow the three rules ofMethodism: Do no harm; Do good; Stay in love with God, which means doing ourpart to prevent the spread of coronavirus in our community and beyond. If youfeel isolated or are in need of care, please contact one of the pastors via email [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected] . I am concerned that others may feel isolated and miss having contactwith the church family. What can I do?

Please reach out to Pastor Bonny Rothat [email protected] withconcerns. We are working to helpchurch members connect with eachother to offer encouragement andsupport of many kinds. When will we return to 10:30a.m. worship face-to-face in thesanctuary? We just don't know when it will be safe

to resume our usual face-to-face worship and programming. We continue to keepapprised of the coronavirus situation and will keep in contact with thecongregation via email. Thanks for your patience and prayers.
