The 1st RP Detector package

• The first package has been fully tested and assembled• Vfat and detector testing made with the trans. board in the H8

system

Towards the first assembly…

The detector package has been mounted on the “champignon”…the next step would be mounting the MB.

The piping and capillaries will be then mounted the same way it has been already done for the Thermal Prototype

Next StepsFor the RP Hybrids:• Testing and assembling procedures are being defined for the mass

production• Lab spaces are also under preparation• 10 new hybrids delivered, more to come (see Walter)

For commissioning the RP Detector Packages• Preparation for testbeam setup• Preparation of a Cosmic Ray setup (parallel to testbeam)

– (Federico looking after the hardware procurement)…Still things to define

RP and DCS• Almost all requirements for the DCS are now clear• Within 10 days a new version of the requirements paper and the full naming scheme

RP and DBs• The management of the data relative to the construction of the DB is being

structured now.

CERN Open Days 5th and 6th of April 5th from 9 to16 and 6th from 8 to19

• Photo Exposition – ~9 Panels 1x2m2 (landscape) for Photos

• i.e. 18 High Res Photos (A1) with descriptions – 6 photos per detector…

• Who could be there? 2 full-time people (or 4 shifts…)

• TOTEM Experiment Poster on Surface at IP5– for general public

• Being drafted now

• Visit in the Tunnel (sect. 56 up to the Roman Pots)– Call for volunteers for tunnel visit by the 19th of March– At least 6 half-day slots to cover
