……………………………..applied word of God

JAMES 1: 23-25

Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and after looking at himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it – he will be blessed in what he does.

.

……..God and His word are one……..God stands over his word to perform it

……God does everything through His word…….the applied word of God is the power

THE VISION

statistics for South Africa: An estimated 26,5% of pregnant woman were HIV positive in 2002.

An estimated 91 271 infants were born with HIV infection in 2002; The overall impact of HIV/AIDS on the health infrastructure and

access to care has been insignificant. The percentage of hospital beds occupied due to AIDS ranges from 26% to 70% among adults in some areas, and from 26% to 30% for children;

Almost 25% of all South African children under age 15 had lost at least one parent to AIDS;

Approximately 600 South Africans die each day of AIDS-related complications;

And if nothing is done to treat AIDS, the number of AIDS deaths is expected to grow further to more than double the number of deaths due to all other causes resulting in 5 to 7 million cumulative AIDS deaths in South Africa by 2010.

…………………………………………………God’s timing

HABAKKUK 2: 2-3

Write down the vision and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false.Though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

……………………………my people perish for a lack of vision

…………………………………………………God’s True Fasting

Isaiah 58: 6-12

“Is not this the kind of fast I have chosen:To loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke,To set the oppressed free and break every yoke?Is it not to share your food with the hungryAnd to provide the poor wanderer with shelter –When you see the naked, to clothe him,And not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?Then your light will break forth like dawn,And your healing will quickly appear;Then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the

Lord will be your rear guard.Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;You will cry for help, and He will say: Here am I.

Isaiah 58: 6-12 (con’t)

“If you do away with the yoke of oppression, With the pointing finger and malicious talk,And if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungryAnd satisfy the needs of the oppressed, Then your light will rise in the darkness,And your night will become like the noonday,The Lord will guide you always;He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched landAnd will strengthen your frame.You will be like a well-watered garden,Like a spring whose waters never fail.Your people will rebuild the ancient ruinsAnd will raise up the age-old foundations;You will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,Restorer of Street with Dwellings.”

……………………………..dependence on God

ZECHARIAH 4:6-10

This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty

What are you , O mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of GOD BLESS IT! GOD BLESS IT!

Then the word of the Lord came to me: The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple;his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.

Who despises the day of small beginnings? Men will rejoice when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.”

…….. man’s independence, or God’s dependence

1 CORINTHIANS 3:7-9

So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who makes things grow.The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his labour. For we are God’s fellow workers, you are God’s field, God’s building.
