REGISTRATION: Fill the form

Registration can only be done throught the offi-cial website www.oasisphotocontest.com

Registrations sent on paper or via email won’t be ac-cepted.

Once registration is done the user receives their au-thor code, which is fundamental for logging in.

Images should be sent by uploading them throughthe form found in the Submission page under theParticipate button.

Images receive a special code. Once they are in ourservers they remain anonymous so judges can’t tellwho the authors are.

Select a method to send yourimagesThe author can can upload his images on our ser-vers using the form (recommended method) orsend them to our offices on a DVD, CD or USBstick (non-returnable). If the latter option is chosenyou will have to download the form, print it and fillit out. Once it’s complete you can send it to the address indicated on the

website.

Pre-ordering the catalogThe pre-order is not mandatory.Participants can pre-order a catalog for 14 eurosinstead of 30, plus the shipping costs. The systemcalculates the exact amount depending on thecountry of destination. For Italy the shipping is 4

euro.

Control codeType the code in the small box below theimage and submit your form.

Use of imagesAll my pictures and all the image rights are my property, nevertheless Ihereby give permission to organizers to use them, but not exclusively,for the following reasons: publishing of the official catalogue of thecontest, photographic exhibition, publishing online, realization of anaudiovisual presentation about the contest, publishing in OASIS ma-gazine and, relating winning pictures, release of the news to the pressand online. Each use of the images shall be referred to the contestanyway and every time the author shall be credited. Other uses arenot allowed. To register, the competitor shall accept all the rules aboutthe use of the images participanting to the contest.

Payment specificationsThe participation fee is 24 euros (12 euros if theauthor is entering the kid section.) Although thepayment is made only after sending the author’sregistration, on this step you must indicate whatwill be your preferred method of payment. If aftersending the registration form you want to send thepayment using a different methrod from that whichwas indicated please let us know in an email sentto: questions@oasisphotocontest.com

Registration will be considered completed oncethe participation fee is received. It is possible toupload the authors photos on our even in the ab-sence of payment, these photos will be allowed tocompete only with the balance of the share.

Data consentIt’s important that you accept the law protec-ted declaration about the treatment of yourpersonal data.

Overview

Once you’ve clicked on theSubmit button on the bottomof the registration form, andbefore your information issent, you’ll see a page con-taining the data you are sub-mitting. Please verify andmake sure that everythingyou’re sending is correct. Ifnot, click on the Back button.

When you send your formyou will receive an emailcontaining important infor-mation, such as your usercode and password.

Please check your spam fol-der in case you don’t find theemail in the Inbox.

On the email you will find a link to login to your page to sendyour images. Enter the code and the password you received.

If you have any problems with the login, try copying and pasting.

Sometimes some characters are misinterpreted. Ie: the capital“i” can look like a lower case “L”, the letter “o” can look like thenumber zero and vice versa.

These simple errors can be the cause of the most commonlogin problems.

Other login problems and errors include double registration.

Please keep your code and, if possible, don’t create morethan one account.

How to send your Payment

In addition to the links to make thepayment, the email you receive con-tains your author code and pas-sword.

The email you will receive from us contains 2 links. The first link will direct you to CartaSì and it’s meantfor users that want to pay by credit card.

For other payment methods, including Paypal, you can click on the second link.

These two payment links can also be found in your per-sonal page on the website. You can log in your perso-nal account with your code and password. To access your personal account go back to the mainregistration menu and click on STEP 3

Payment registration

Once the payment has been sent you will receive a notification that the paymentwas sent, regardless of the method you choose- CartaSì and Paypal will send you an email.- If you pay by money order or money transfer you will always have a receipt

that you should keep.In this way you know the payment was sent.

Asking us for further confirmation won’t be necessary so we ask you to avoidsending us email if that is the only question you have.

You’ll find the status of your payment on your personal page.

If the payment was not made the images won’t be accepted for the com-petition.

Registration on hold If you log on to your control panel to upload yourimages, you will find this text, it means that yourpayment has yet to be registered. However If you’ve sent your payment, this doesn’tmean that it wasn’t received. Keep in mind that theregistration of payments usually takes 1-2 days.Registration of payments sent offline might takemore than 2 days. The switch of payment statusfrom unpaid to paid does not happen automaticallylike it does on auction websites. You can send yourimages even if you see the unregistered paymentnotification, but your images won’t be admitted to the competition until you see on your control panel that your payment was registered

Successful registration If you log on to your control panel on STEP 3and you find a notification indicating that yourpayment has been successful registered, itmeans that all your images have been acceptedto the competition

Image requirementsEach competitor can participate in one or moresections. For each section the maximum num-ber of entries is 3 images, with the exception ofthe section Storyboard which allows a minimumof 5 and a maximum of 9 images.

The photographs must be sent as digital files.Photos shot with film will be accepted, howeverthey must be digitalized in the required formatprior to submission.

Photos are expected to be sent in high resolu-tion (300 dpi.) When printed the shorter sidemust be at least 15 cm (6 inches), or 1800 pi-xels. All works must show an accurate reflectionof the subject and the scene just as they appea-red to the author at the moment of shooting.

Digitally altered photos that were modified be-yond optimization purposes will be disqualified. Adjustments of color, contrast, brightness andsharpness, removal of dust and scratches andcutting are accepted.

The addition, duplication, deletion or moving ofobjects in pictures won't be accepted, nor willthe use of artistic digital filters and effects.

Authors must keep the original files, as produ-ced by the camera, in RAW, TIFF, JPG, or DNGformat, or as negatives or slide films. The authorwill be asked to send the original files if neces-sary. If the author didn't keep the RAW or DNG files,they will have to present the shots that followedand preceded the image in question.

If the author fails to provide the jury with any ofthe previously mentioned files, the submittedphoto might be disqualified.

When preparing files to send to the contestplease bear in mind the limits of post produc-tion operations allowed following to the rulesand regulations of the contest and avoid majormanipulation of pixels.

Clonature, cancellation, duplication of pixelsare not allowed.

Adjustments of color, contrast, brightness andsharpness are accepted as long as it’s notoverused or exaggerated.

Heavy interventions such as excessive air-brush will be considered a negavite point bythe Jury.

Photos are expected to be sent in high resolu-tion, this means that images should be savedwith 300 pixels of resolution at the very least.

In print the shorter side of the image shouldhave a width of 15 cm (6 inches). All worksmust show an accurate reflection of the sub-ject and the scene just as they appeared to theauthor at the moment of shooting.

The jury will examine the photographs withoutconsidering the authors, this means the au-thors will remain anonymous until the winningworks are selected. Please bear this in mindwhen you submit your images and do not addany signatures, logos or graphic elements thatcould identify you as the author.

Photos that have been digitally altered beyondstandard optimization will be disqualified.

The preferred format for files is jpg. Tiff andeps files are also accepted.

When you upload your images on the websitethe system automatically renames your files. It’sno use renaming your digital files if you uploadthem on our servers. You would only need toupload them using your personal account on oasisphotocontest.com

However, if you intend to send your imagesthrough traditional mail either on a CD, DVD, orUSB flash drive, it is necessary that you ma-nually rename your files following the system’sway.

So in this case files must be renamed indivi-dually following the pattern we present here:Author code + underscore, low dash +  sectionumer + number of the photo. Please don’t addany spaces.

The author code is the code you receive rightafter sending your registration. It is unique andit is made by the system. It consists of a letterand three digits ie: e213. The only way of gettingyour author code is by registrating yourself to thecontest. Registration can only be done on oasisphotcontest.com.

The letter indicates the section you’re submittingyour image under. Every section is representedby a specific letter*.The number inditates theprogressive number of that particular file. For in-steance, if you submit more than one imageunder the same section, the first will get thenumber 1, the second the number 2 and so on.You can submit 3 images per section, except for‘Storyboard’ which allows 9 images.

Uploading your imagesPhoto titleEvery picture that you send is expected to havetitle and a short caption.The TITLE of the photo is completely up to theauthor. Usually the title of the work is linked to the

subject that inspired the author.

Image upload buttonSimply click on the button that reads ‘Search’ andselect the file that you want to send.

Click on the Search button to select the file you wantto submit to the contest.

The maximum weight allowed is 20 MB per photo-graph, but we stronly suggest that the files you sendare not heavier than 4 MB (per image.)Heavier fileswill result in a long and tedius uploading process.Keep in mind that ADSL connections might be fastwhen downloading files, but very slow when uploa-ding them on the net.

We recommend not to wait until the last day to sendyour images as our servers might become very slowdue to the amount on users sending on that day .

Confirmation pageIf your files we successfully sent, you will beautomatically redirected to the confirmationpage. Once you’ve sent your first images youcan always go back to your control panel andsend more images.

Information about your photothe DESCRIPTION should be written below thetitle. It should be a brief description of the image,perhaps with relevant information about the pic-ture, ie: the subject, location or moment of shoo-ting, and any other information that the authorwould like to give always regarding the picture.

Verify your submission

Once your images were uploaded you can seethem on your control panel. You might want to makesure that the files sent correspond to the photo-graphs you wanted to submit.

If you made a mistake sending the wrong file, chan-ged your mind about the photo you want to submit,or got an error during the uploading process youcan ask us for the removal of said image. Our web-master will delete the photo you want to cancel orreplace it with a new photo.

Above you can see the picture P1 wasuploaded with a title and a descriptionunder the landscape section. The ‘Search’field disappears. You can see the file youuploaded by clicking on ‘See Image’.

The second picture P2 is missing its titleand description.

It's always possible to change the title anddescription of images. Once you’re readyto send your files click on ‘Send images’.

However you can’t change or delete uploa-ded files. If you want to do so please get incontact with us.
