IGM - Greens RescueDel Tura Golf Club, Fort Myers, Florida

Existing Situation: #8 green on the NorthCourse was closed after it started experiencinga void in turf as a result of poor pastmaintenance practices. The previous practiceincluded adding organic material to push upgreens and overwatering the playing areas.

Action Plan: Due to limited funds, IGM wasunable to resod nor sprig the green area. Tostay within the budgetary constraints, IGMused cup cutter plugs to correct the areainstead. By using plugs from other greens, intensifying fertility and hand watering thearea to prevent any algae, IGM was able tocompletely regrow the turf to cover the area.

End Result: The green is reopened for playwith a new hearty turfgrass. IGM continues tocorrect the poor maintenance practices fromprior staff through aerification of the greens toremove excess organic build-up. Applicationsof proper sand with PSA are being applied tofurther correct the issue.

IGM - Putting Green - 100 Yard ZoneHighland Fairways Golf Course, Lakeland, Fl.

Existing Situation: The 10,000 sq ft practicegreen deteriorated due to the 18-year oldmutated Tifdwarf turf. Many of the mutatedareas had a thatch build-up of up to 3" thatwas not allowing water too reach soil rootzone, actually making the zone hydrophobic. Not only is this the Club's putting green, but itis also in the Club's 100 yard zone, a hightraffic area for all visitors.

Action Plan: In order to regain a consistentsoil profile throughout the entire practicegreen without rebuilding nor spendingexcessive manhours and money, IGM begancorrecting the issue through corrective turfmanagement practices. Through numeroussteps of verticutting, aerifying, and applyingproper chemicals, the crew was starting to seea soil profile instead of a thatch profile. Afterseven weeks, the process was finally completewith the only real expense being the laborinvolved.

End Result: For the first time in 18 years,Highland Fairways finally has a consistentsoil profile across the entire area. The Clubwas extremely pleased with their new andgreatly improved putting surface while raisingthe aesthetics for the Club's 100 yard zone.

IGM Maintenance Success StoriesWe take the team concept seriously, positioning it as our primary competitive advantage.

No where in the golf business has such a strong group been assembled. Our team ofagronomists and turfgrass professionals, many of them certified with the Golf CourseSuperintendents Association of America (GCSAA), bring a wealth of experience to each ofour relationships, resulting in a synergy between our maintenance operations and ourclients. We estimate the combined knowledge and turfgrass management experience of ourteam to exceed 1,000 years. It is the synergistic effect of this experience that enables us todeliver positive results for our clients.

IGM - Tees Line ImprovementThe Eagles Golf Club, Odessa, Florida

Existing Situation: The 14th tee on theForest course was located in a highly shadedarea and the turf was competing with the treeroots. Also, the area was experiencing poor aircirculation. All of these factors helped createda very thin and weak turf, which in turn led toalgae formation and weed infestation.

Action Plan: IGM performed root andselective limb pruning to reduce competitionfor water and nutrition and increase exposureto the sunlight. The crew also relocatedadjacent shrubbery to increase air movement. After recontouring the shape of the tee, mowing height was raised in the weakestareas which, along with fertility and irrigationpractices, improved the vigor and density ofthe turf. Post emergent herbicides wereapplied to control the existing weeds and apre emergent herbicide strategy wasdeveloped to reduce future weed pressure.

End Result: There has been a significantimprovement in the turf quality, leading to aweed free tee with greater playability andaesthetics. Other areas of the course wereexperiencing the same problems, but withIGM's action plans, the customer is veryhappy with the improvement of the courseconditions.

IGM - Golf Course AestheticsAquarina Golf Club, Melbourne Beach, Fl.

Existing Situation: The restroom facilitywas once located 40 yards from the locationbelow. It was situated near some adjacent landthat was on the market for sale. The lotowners did not want the facility in theirbackyard view.

Action Plan: IGM coordinated with allparties involved and agreed on a new locationfor the facility that was still functional to thecourse layout, but accommodating the newlandowners wishes of keeping it out of theirview. As part of the process, IGM laid out anew cart path route and prepared the area forthe building, which included sod removal, fill, grading and final grading for the levelstructure. Landscaping the facility after themove was complete was also IGM'sresponsibility.

End Result: By doing the building moveproject in-house, IGM saved the client a heftyamount of money. The landowners and theclients could not be more happy with theoutcome of the facility. IGM helped the clubcreate an aesthetically pleasing appeal to theonce unwanted building.

Many things have evolved over the years inthe turf quipment/irrigation distributionindustry. Mainly, economies have changedworld-wide affecting the golf industry. Allthough there are few competitors in the golfequipment product lines, competition remainsfierce and price sensitive. This has erodedprofit margin. These changes have made usmore aware of identifying new marketsoutside of the golf industry. MeadowbrookGolf continues to be proactive to the changesas to their customer’s needs and continues tosearch for and adding new markets.Meadowbrook’s turf and equipment divisionsare Golf Ventures and Golf Ventures Westwhich are closely managed and directed fromthe parent company.

Meadowbrook Golf has positioned productlines to compete in the golf industry, resort, municipal, institutional, sports fields, landscaping, parks and recreation and other

industries. We have added many productlines to diversify our business and to expandour customer base.

The rising cost of equipment over severalyears has made it difficult for customers toinvest in the purchase of capital equipment.Meadowbrook Golf has experienced sales stafftrained in offering retail financing to assist inthe cash flow needs of the customer. Retailfinancing in certain instances, allows thecustomer to keep the liability off of theirbalance sheet and allows the customer tobring in new equipment at the end of the leaseterm. The customer can then keep up withthe advancing technologies every three to fouryears. It also keeps their maintenance costdown by not keeping deterioratingequipment. Seventy five percent of largepackages are now being financed. This is adramatic increase over several years.

It is Meadowbrook Golf’s objective to operateGolf Ventures and Golf Ventures West withcutting edge turf technology and leadership ina cost effective operating system. Managingour operating assets, specifically inventoryand accounts receivable, is key to our success. This gives us sufficient cash flow to investback into the operations. Also, maintainingan experienced staff and maintaining a highperformance ratio is essential in alldepartments.
