Facility Information Database, a Management Tool
Many sites are already using electronic based information for management decisions.
TYSP, IFI Crosscut and other Site documents depend on data in FIMS or other local information systems that contain various facility information.
At ORNL, senior managers are using FIMS data for many routine decisions; and there is an expectation that the data is current, accurate and reproducible.
ORNL’S FIMS validation relied heavily on local enterprise databases as source documents

Forces the user to become organized Use information from Spreadsheet to build validation

Notebook is outdated soon after validation is complete and whole process starts over again
