Dear Parents and Friends,
Whole school excursion has been decided!! Well the votes are in and Funfields is the winner– by an overwhelming number of votes. Hardly surprising as it does look like it will be a great day out. A permission note will go home next week with a medical form that must also be completed. The cost for the excursion for each student is $10. Our students have raised $476.00 towards the excursion which is a great effort. The school is contributing a significant amount towards the excursion also. We will have space on the buses for some parent helpers, no babies or toddlers allowed sorry. If you are interested in coming with us, please leave your name at the office. I expect that there will be quite a few parents keen to go so we will draw the ‘winning’ names out of a hat. Parents attending will be required to pay $22.00. This is a significant reduction from the normal price of $38.00.
2015 staffing and grade structure. I am pleased to be in a position to let you know about grade structures and staffing for 2015. Well, most of it! P/1 = Darren Baker (4 days) and the teacher for the fifth day is yet to be confirmed. 1/2= We have advertised this position. You will certainly know who the teacher will be before the end of the year. 3/4= Siobhan Moody (3 days) Carolyn Tavener (2 days). 5/6= Tara McCormick. Cameron Frost will be enjoying 12 months leave. Kayleen Gloury will return to her previous school as Siobhan is returning from Family Leave. Reading Recovery= Alison Kitching. Business Manager= Deb Henderson. Visual arts= Paul Allen. Performing Arts= Joseph Bromley. French= this has been advertised. We will know who the teacher will be before the end of the year. We have also advertised an Integration aide position as Lyn and Lee-Anne’s contracts finish at the end of this year. Siobhan is returning from Family Leave at the start of March so we will have 5 weeks (28 Jan—28 Feb) where we will employ a teacher to fill that position. When I have confirmed who that will be I will let you know.
Warm regards, Carolyn Tavener Principal [email protected]

Grounds Maintenance Roster. Thank you, thank you to our parents who are doing an awesome job of keeping our grounds neat and tidy. As the bushfire season approaches we rely on our parents to keep our school grounds neat and tidy. If you don’t have a whipper snipper and would like another job to do, please contact Carolyn. There are always jobs waiting to be done! ► If you can’t do your week, you must arrange a
swap with another family and let the school know who you have swapped with and what date you now have on the roster.
► When you have completed one of the jobs, please let the office know so we can cross it off our list.
Our 2014 School Performance– A Journey through time.
Friday November 14 6:30pm Our performance will be at school.
Please help your child get their costumes ready! Grade Prep - 1930's. Boys in black pants and white shirts, girls in lovely dresses. Grade 1/2 - 1920's. This one's simple, all black. Students need only wear the darkest clothes they can (with no prints or text on). Grade 3/4 - 1960's. Pool party, surfing, beach fun. Appropriate swimming costumes would be fab. Grade 5/6 - 1950's. Think rockabilly or early rock and roll styles, dark pants, short sleeve shirts, slick back hair (for the boys). Full skirts and lots of colour for the girls.
Of course, a time travel performance needs daleks
and a tardis! (and an Ethan!)
