Malfunctions on the direct shift transmission 7-speed transmission with dry double clutch
A 30 A fuse is essential for the direct shift transmission to operate without any malfunctions.
Manufacturer: VW
Models: Scirocco (137) Passat CC (357) Golf Plus (5M1/521) Golf/Jetta (1K/5K1) Touran (1T)
Transmission: 0AM
In the direct shift transmission, the gear is changed by the mechatronics. The mechatronics consist of a control unit and an electrohydraulic control unit. The integrated hydraulic pump is electrically driven and provides an operating pressure of 70 bar. As a result of the increased power required by the hyd-raulic pump, a fuse must be used that is designed for a high continuous load. A 30 A fuse is installed ex works for the power sup-ply to the mechatronics. In individual cases, it is possible that an incorrectly dimensioned 15 A fuse may have been installed, which could cause a ran-ge of malfunctions on the direct shift transmission.
The following error memory entries may have been stored in the transmission control unit:
• P0562/21148 Supply voltage for the electric motor is too low• P177F/21065 Unacceptably high voltage drop in the electric motor• P175F/21098 No valid basic calibration for the transmission• P189C/21247 Accumulator diagnosis not possible• P174A/21108 Valve open load coupling
In the event of malfunctions on the direct shift transmission, first check whether a functioning 30 A fuse has been installed for the pow-er supply to the mechatronics. The precise installation location of the fuse depends on the vehicle and can only be located using the current flow diagram or the on-board literature. Faulty or incorrectly dimensi-oned fuses must be replaced.
