Chigoli is a non for profit charity in Malawi aiming to build football development schemes for children. Malawi is the poorest country in the world per capita the development of football initiatives gives these young people a future, an escape from the hardship, encourages team support and creates role models for generations to come. To support them why not take a tour around Malawi with the charity teaching and playing football with the local kids. The cost of the tour covers the trip costs and a donation to the charity. Immerse yourself in local culture, explore beautiful Malawi and help develop a brighter future for the children of Malawi. Day 1 Today you will take the international flight to Lilongwe, Malawi. Day 2 On arrival you will be met and driven to stay at Mabuya Camp for the next 2 nights. On arrival you will have a welcoming brief before relaxing and getting to know your group in the afternoon. Mabuya Camp is Lilongwe’s premier backpackers lodge and campsite. The campsite is the perfect place to unwind. With hot showers, cold beer, delicious food and a swimming pool, relax and enjoy your stay in Lilongwe. At Mabuya you will stay in a shared room with shared bathroom facilities

You will spend 2 nights at Mabuya Camp on a full-board basis. Day 3 Today you will visit a local primary school to teach in class and run coaching sessions with pupils. In the afternoon your tour will visit community academy Play Football Malawi to help coach and play 5 aside against talented Malawian players.

Day 4 After breakfast you will visit the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre where you will get a private tour around the centre to learn about conservation, anti-poaching initiatives, and see the variety of wildlife at the centre (lion, baboon, python, crocodile and more!). Following lunch the you will depart for Kumbali Cultural Village where you will stay the night, set in the countryside of Malawi where you will settle into your ‘hut’ for the night to experience traditional Malawian village life. Following 5-a-side football on their custom built village pitch, or volley ball against local village sides, you will be treated to a

Malawian feast so you can enjoy the delicious local cuisine followed by a tribal drumming workshop around the fire. Kumbali Cultural Village offers an authentic African village experience, with traditional food, a bar, fire pit and a local arts and craft stall it is an incredible place to get an idea of the rich tradition and culture of Malawian people. There are 12 traditional mud, reed or wood panelled huts with traditional grass thatch roofs all with twin beds and mosquito nets.

You will spend 1 night at Kumbali Cultural Village on a full-board basis. Day 5 After breakfast you will be transferred to Senga Bay on Lake Malawi, en route you will stop at a crocodile farm. You will stay at Cool Runnings Lodge for the next 2 days. Cool Runnings Lodge is a friendly guesthouse in Senga Bay, a beautiful stretch of sandy beach along Lake Malawi’s shores. With almost half the profits of the Lodge going back to the community it is a great place to soak up local life, watching fishermen during the day as they haul in their catches to enjoying a sing along with the locals at night around the campfire. Cool Runnings offers a variety of accommodation all with twin beds and either shared bathrooms or en-suite bathrooms with hot showers and flushing toilets. The lodge has canoes, kayaks, a catamaran and a boat, all for hire to enjoy activities on the lake.

You will spend 2 nights at Cool Runnings Lodge on a full-board basis. Day 6 Today you will spend the morning playing football with a local village. After lunch you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the lake before dinner and then a movie night or poker tournament.

Day 7 Early this morning you will be transferred to Liwonde National Park to stay at Liwonde Safari Camp for the night, where you will have an afternoon sunset game drive. Liwonde National Park surrounds the palm lined Shire River, home to numerous crocodile and hippo populations, in the adjacent plains and forests you will find herds of elephant, waterbuck, bushbuck, impala, vervet monkeys, baboons, warthogs and the beautiful sable antelope. There is a small population of re-introduced rhinos and there are recorded sightings of leopards and lions however they are seldom seen. There is also a rich birdlife from the palmnut vultures to fishing eagles.

Liwonde Safari Camp is a rustic camp within the park with either luxury safari tents or a shared dormitory. The bathrooms are shared with running hot water. You can relax on the viewing deck to see which animals wonder by camp or cool off in the plunge pool during the heat of the day.

You will spend 1 night at Liwonde Safari Camp on a full-board basis. Day 8 This morning after breakfast you will head out onto the river Shire for a boat safari. After lunch you will be transferred to Cape Maclear to stay at Mgoza Lodge for the next 2 nights. Lake Malawi is the third largest fresh water lake in Africa and dominates the small country. It has the biggest variety of freshwater fish in the world, including some of the rarest, and it is also home to different varieties of eagle and kingfisher as well as other birdlife. With clear waters, huge sandy beaches and remote islands it's a match to the Indian Ocean, and is one of the most beautiful spots on the continent. Cape Maclear is a vibrant fishing village at the south of Lake Malawi. With lots of activities on offer from sea kayaking, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, hiking or shopping in the local craft markets it is a very social area of the lake.

Mgoza Lodge is a beautiful lodge on the shores of Lake Malawi within Cape Maclear. Set in luscious gardens you can relax in the shade of the trees, at the bar, cool off in the swimming pool or venture onto the beach. With the lake on your doorstep there is plenty to do. There are several levels of accommodation at the lodge from thatched dorms and huts to en-suite chalets.

You will spend 2 nights at Mgoza Lodge on a full-board basis. Day 9 Today you will play football and help out with matches in Cape Maclear before an afternoon boat trip on the Lake. You can snorkel in the crystal clear waters of Lake Malawi before heading back to the lodge for dinner.

Day 10 Today you will be transferred to Lilongwe and spend the afternoon at Chigoli Academy where you can have the chance to coach and play against some of the country’s most exciting young players. You will be transferred to Mabuya Camp to stay for the next 2 days. Mabuya Camp is Lilongwe’s premier backpackers lodge and campsite. The campsite is the perfect place to unwind. With hot showers, cold beer, delicious food and a swimming pool, relax and enjoy your stay in Lilongwe. At Mabuya you will stay in a shared room with shared bathroom facilities

You will spend 2 nights at Mabuya Camp on a full-board basis. Day 11 This morning you will have a trip to Silver Stadium to play a match against a local select side in a Super League of Malawi football ground. Following the match and lunch you can relax around the

pool in the afternoon before heading out for a farewell dinner with guest speaker. Past guest speakers have included the former Vice President of Malawi, Rt. Hon. Justin Malewezi; ex-National Coach of Malawi, Young Chimodzi; and the Technical Director of the Football Association of Malawi, John Kaputa.

Day 12 Today you will have a farewell breakfast and stop at a gift shop on the way to Lilongwe Airport, where you will check in for the international flight to the UK.
