Leadership A Camps International accredited Expedition Leader will accompany you for the duration of the trip. Our leaders have been chosen not only on the merits of their technical ability or qualifications, but also on their leadership skills and temperament. We will provide a leader who will make the trek both successful and enjoyable throughout. Their primary objective will be to maximise every participant’s chances of completing the trek, and to manage a team of individuals with a broad spectrum of experience and expectations. Our leaders hold current mountain first aid certificates and have experience of dealing with altitude related illness, wilderness medicine and emergency care.

ItineraryDay 1-2 Arrive (overnight at Kuti camp) Arrive into Lilongwe International Airport, where a member of the Camps team will meet you before you transfer to Kuti Wildlife Reserve. The reserve is a haven to a huge variety of free-roaming wildlife, with mammals such as giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, sable, kudu and impala through to primates, reptiles and hundreds of bird species. There are no large predators or dangerous game on the reserve so you can explore and take in your surroundings at your own pace, without the need for a vehicle or scout. During your stay you will take part in the construction and maintenance projects at the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre’s primary release site.

Day 3-6 Lake Malawi (overnight at Cape Maclear campsite)Today you will transfer to Lake Malawi to stay at the Cape Maclear campsite, who are committed to promoting sustainable developments for the well-being of their community. All projects are designed to benefit both the environment and local community and could include production of educational materials, organic gardening, orphan feeding and education programmes.

Day 7-8 Mvuu Camp - Liwonde National Park (overnight at Mvuu camp) Mvuu Campsite overlooks a broad stretch of the Shire River (pronounced Shiree), with a profusion of hippos, crocodiles and the amazing birdlife of the Liwonde National Park. Activities at Mvuu Campsite revolve around boating trips on the Shire River and game drives. If you are curious to explore the hidden spots of Liwonde National Park, take a nature walk or a bike ride to discover the surroundings and be surprised by the unknown of this park
