Making this season a handmade holiday! I remember the day clearly… 9 years ago I wanted to do something to cut down the cost of my wedding, so I decided to make my own Thank You cards. I was still working as a TV Journalist and emceed an asian pacific islander day. My nice husband took it in his hands to sell all of the made up thank you’s… and he did! I felt like a millionaire. A light went on in my head and on the week- ends I would moonlight and sell my creations at local craft shows during the fall months. I was hooked. I couldn’t stop making cards after a long day of work—a sort of stress reliever. I had more fun making cards and invitations for people than getting a regular paycheck by chasing wanted felons. My dream was realized once my son was born and decided to open up a paper boutique. Craft shows were the key to my new career move. I love quality handmade crafts and the work that goes into them. This is why I am sponsoring our first handmade holiday craft show here at the Town and Country Village shopping center. Please see all of the cool crafty goodness from local artisans as they showcase their handmade goodies. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local charities. Saturday, November 14th 9 a.m.–5 p.m. We’re hoping this will become an annual event. Please tell your friends! We also have other exciting events at the Paper Garden. In October, welcome back designer and creator Dave Brethauer from Memory Box. Make your cards come alive with watercolor and colored pen- cils! Be the first to see all the winter stamps with Dave’s trunk show! In November take a class with Kodomo Inc. guest instructor Stephanie Sheets. She will amaze you with origami boxes and handmade gifts. At The Paper Garden Boutique we help in every way we can donating paper, gifts and classes, but everyone can help anytime they shop at our store. Just say “no” to a bag when you purchase something… we will donate 10 cents for small and medium bags that you decline and 25 cents for large bags. If everyone pitches in, we’ll have a big check for a local charity because the Paper Garden will match the funds! All of us here at the Paper Garden thank you for your continued support and coming to our store… we wish you the a safe and wonderful holiday!
