Join us and celebrate the holidaysat the 32nd annual Vista Lights!WHEN?Thursday, Nov. 16 from 5 - 10 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, shop up an appetite, help us light our tree and stay late. Enjoy our new family-friendly Kid’s Zone and Merry Marketplace on Lincoln Street. And just because the offi cial celebration ends at 10 p.m. doesn’t mean you can’t stay for more late-night entertainment and a nightcap with

your friends.

WHERE?The Vista community will take part in the festivities. Vista Lights starts at 5 p.m. with Park and Lincoln streets closed to traffi c from Lady to Senate from 5 - 10 p.m. Gervais Street will close to traffi c from Gadsden to Assembly streets at 6 p.m. Galleries, shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs will stay open late, showcasing their holiday goods. See centerfold map for participating businesses.

PARKINGParking on streets open to traffi c is free after 6 p.m. There’s more free parking until 2 a.m. Friday in the city garages on820 Washington Street (behind Aloft Hotel) and on Park Street (beside the Hilton Hotel). Parking is free at the South Carolina State Museum. Hit up Vista galleries and shops along Huger Street before heading up to the heart of the Vista, or take the complimentary shuttle up to the action.

THE LIGHTS COME ON IN THE VISTAThe traditional tree lighting ceremony will be held again this year at 7 p.m. This year’s lighting will be spectacular, with more lights than ever before. Emcee Mary King of WIS will join Mayor Steve Benjamin and other city offi cials to light the tree with dance performances, Christmas carols and much more by Vista arts organizations. Meet us at 6:15 p.m. around the tree in front of River Runner Outdoor Center near the intersection of Gervais and Lincoln Streets.

After We’ve Gathered ‘Round the Tree, the Party has just Begun!■ The Vista Guild will offer wristbands to Vista Lights

attendees who are 21 and older to purchase beer,

which will be for sale on Lincoln Street at the corner of

Gervais (near Starbucks) from 5 - 9:30 p.m. On tap for

the evening are $5 drafts, including Stella Artois, Stella Cidre, Palmetto Espresso Porter, and Catawba White Zombie. Cash only.

■ Prettier than Matt will play on the main stage from 7:30 -

8 p.m. and Soda City Brass Band will play from 8 - 9:45 p.m.

■ 929 Gervais Street: Join us for an open house and famously hot libations at 929 Gervais Street to showcase the Vista’s newest renovated space for lease.

■ Aloft Hotel (823 Lady St.): Enjoy the fi re on the Aloft porch with free hot chocolate and Carolina Cream Irish Cream and coffee by Six & Twenty Distillery while playing corn hole and giant Jenga.

■ Art Bar (1211 Park St.): Enjoy a festive indulgence of grilling, craft beer, cocktails, music and trivia.

■ Blue Marlin (1200 Lincoln St.): Offering samples of Blue Marlin’s famous shrimp and grits under the Lincoln St. canopy and a specialty drinks and a photo booth in the private room.
