Italians! We love their food as much as they do. We Journey to the rolling green hills of Val Sabbia where Francesco Stagnoli makes cheese so good that once it was traded as a currency. We visit the warm and sunny south to meet Allessandro Mele who is the high priest of what can only be described as ‘an olive oil religion.’ Si! Made in Italy tells stories of Italian food & wine legends… and delivers their product to your door.
Renewable energy and carbon credits. Complicated stuff for any company. Sure, SPG could have written a myriad of empty messages about saving the planet. Instead, they focussed on just one thing: enlightening their target market to the perils of supply chain water risk. Makes perfect sense.
A traditional Law firm who needs to win new clients. The problem: people only need a lawyer… well, when they need a lawyer. The solution: Create a Journey that, episode by episode, teaches their audience something new. In this case, Du-tian stops the government from shutting down your website. Best we get our website legally compliant then!
Michelle owns Women International Magazine. However, she no longer refers to herself as a magazine owner. Michelle is now “a woman who flaunts stories of female greatness.” She is an example of how we take an ‘ordinary business owner’ and position her in a completely different way.
Lawbite said “Farewell you soulless, mindless old newsletter!” Now they send out bi-monthly chapter summaries of the Business Law for Dummies book, authored by their founder. We also co-wrote an e-book with them called “Are Robot Lawyers the Future?” Good question.
Ooohhh…. Journeys work oh so well for sales reps, who never have time to write amazing content for each and every prospect. So we wrote it (and sent it) for the Hellmann sales team. Their Journey received a 16% response rate and resulted in millions of extra revenue. All the sales reps needed to do was FaF (Fire & Forget). FaF is an important part of one’s day.
Now this clever little technique generates astonishing results. Why should each episode in a Journey come from the same person? A secret trick is to introduce the founder / owner of the business in a very clever way. Crafting a great Journey is not just about the content, it is about who each piece of content comes from and the timing of each episode. It’s an art people.

James Knight is now known as the ‘man who uses colours to help people reach their dreams.’ We grabbed his database of 70,000 subscribers and started them on highly personalised and beautifully insightful Journeys of aspirational content. These particular Journeys evoke a very personal, storytelling motif and click throughs (which we measure ever so carefully) went through the roof.
Rent a room from friends instead of strangers. MyFriendsRoom is AirBnB with a difference. We set up automated journeys that trigger when guests or hosts register on the site… the secret was to find a differentiator. Clare designs a beautiful flip-book that brings a listing to life… and sweetens it with great referrals.
An app that puts a qualified nutritionist in your pocket. People don’t really like to share their personal health data with a stranger, so we created a content Journey written by a well-known nutritionist and author of five books. When the trust was built, a beautiful responsive form captured the data which was then used to qualify the leads and offer them the perfect product.
