The Ultimate Sweeping MachineThe Magnum Plus is the Scarab Flagship sweeper. With its class-leading, powerful suction, high specification and rugged build it is suited for all civil works and specialist applications including airport runway and aprons, milling work, high pressure surface cleaning and glycol removal.

Designed and built by Scarab in the UK which can then be further enhanced by our specialised dealer Walter in Germany with additional ‘Titanium’ options including rear suction, front brushes, additional high pressure water pumps and more. The Magnum Plus can be mounted on a chassis of your choice in the range of 18 to 19 tonnes. Combined with Scarab’s renowned hydrostatic drive system and our simple to use CANbus control and diagnostics system make the Magnum Plus a versatile machine with incredible suction power, excellent endurance and a host of options to suit your requirements.

High Powered Hydrostatic GearboxA Scarab designed high powered hydrostatic gearbox is installed in the chassis driveline to suit any customers’ chassis and is rated upto 420 hp. Hydrostatic drive allows single-pedal control reducing fatigue and enabling the driver to fully concentrate on sweeping, a simple joystick control is used to select Forward or Reverse.

Scarab’s CANbus control system has revolutionised the way sweepers are operated and maintained.Intuitive controls and a conveniently positioned colour monitor provide comprehensive levels of feedback to both operating and service

personnel. A graphical display indicates the sweeping configuration and conditions of the vehicle systems including warnings and regular service reminders.Real-time monitoring and data-logging provides valuable assistance

in resolving problems and achieving optimum machine performance.Scarab CANbus includes universal connectors for fitment of Global positioning System (GPS) and the option of real-time data via telematic up-link.

A Stainless Steel centrifugal impellor positioned to produce an efficient airflow path for high suction performance and reduced power consumption. Fan chamber is easily accessed for cleaning.Fan Operating revolutions begin at 1800 rpm with variable control up to 3,400 rpm.

The Hydraulic system extensively incorporates steel piping to minimise use of flexible hoses.

The gross 8.2 m3 hopper is completely manufactured from abbrasion resisting stainless steel. An automated wash out system is available to assist in cleaning.

Three-point rear door clamping system, to ensure effective sealing and discharge chute.

Particulate Screening via a hinged, stainless steel mesh filter, pleated to give maximum surface area and reduce blocking - swings down for ease of cleaning.

REAR SUCTIONA full-width suction nozzle system mounted to the rear of the vehicle, ensuring minimum envelope possible whilst retaining a full 2.5 metre suction width. Coupled with High Pressure water systems, this ensures spotlessly clean surface-dressed surfaces ready for the application of the final wearing course. Full floating facility allows for surface imperfections. Options for chipping collection plus specialised high pressure washing.

HIGH PRESSURE AND HIGH VOLUME WATER OPTIONSTo allow perfect cleaning of the road surface, Walter can offer a range of High Pressure or High Volume water pump options, depending on the exact requirement. These are mounted on the chassis behind the cab and incorporate and independent hydraulic system, thus allowing no performance drop in all conditions.

The pumps are available in a diverse array of pressure and flows to suit specific requirements. An example of the types available are outlined below:-

FRONT SPRAY BAR SYSTEMSFully adjustable slewing spraybar systems with pneumatic articulation allow the operator to get full utilisation from the chosen water pump system.

These bars can slew left to right, depending on kerbside and also lift and lower to allow safer stowage and protection from damage.

FRONT BRUSH OPTIONSA number of Front Brush systems are also available, whether the requirement is for simply extra sweeping capability, an extra brush that can sweep pavements whilst the standard brushes are sweeping the road, or full weed-ripping capability. The whole range of options can be catered for. Specialised Roller brushes are also available for milling requirements
