KVTA is a talk radio station based in Ventura County that is owned by Gold Coast Broadcasting LLC. The station produces a local morning show from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM, but also airs nationally syndicated pro-grams including Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and the late night show Coast to Coast. The AM radio station also airs a variety of sports including the LA Kings, Lakers, Angels, and Oakland Raiders games.

The purpose of the ad is to promote a local talk radio station. More specifically the ad promotes the radio sta-tion’s 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM morning show.

The intended audience for this ad is people in Ventura county who get ready for work between 5:00 and 9:00 AM. It originally appeared in the sports section of the paper so they also added the fact that KVTA broadcasts Oakland Raiders games to catch fans’ attention.

I experimented with various fonts for the logo, but while doing research for my ad I noticed that the logo for the radio station is already an established brand so I didn’t want to deviate too far from it. I think the original logo uses Arial as it’s sans-serif font, but I chose Helvetica Neue instead. The closest font I could find to the call letters font was “Cairo”, but I ended up not using this anywhere else in the design because it worked better on a large scale in the logo.
