Possible magazines for our interview with Katie Smith Possible magazines would have to have a target audience similar to our documentary target audience of 16-24 and mainly females. Heat magazine is in this category and publishes a range of articles. Heat is most well known for its celebrity gossip, showbiz news and fashion. Looking on the Heat website, there is a link to 'style' which includes areas in fashion and beauty, which could possibly include our interview. Searching 'body image' on the website brings up a range of articles, including interviews. However they are all of celebrities and so I think that it is unlikely that our article would fit into this magazine.

Possible magazines for our interview with Katie Smith

Possible magazines would have to have a target audience similar to our

documentary target audience of 16-24 and mainly females.

Heat magazine is in this

category and publishes a

range of articles. Heat is

most well known for its

celebrity gossip, showbiz

news and fashion. Looking

on the Heat website, there is

a link to 'style' which

includes areas in fashion

and beauty, which could

possibly include our

interview.

Searching 'body image' on the

website brings up a range of

articles, including interviews.

However they are all of celebrities

and so I think that it is unlikely that

our article would fit into this

magazine.

New! magazine also have the same target audience. From a previous

magazine, I noticed that they include 'real-life' articles on all sorts of topics, so

I think that this type of magazine is a lot more likely to publish our interview.

Other magazines which include 'real life'

articles are:

Take a break

Take a break is the largest selling real life magazine in the UK. It is published

weekly and appeals to women of a range of ages, but because there is no

celebrity gossip or fashion, I think it will appeal to the older generations more

than the young. However it is likely that our article will fit in with the rest of this

magazine.

This is a good example of a double-page article related to eating disorders

found in Take a Break magazine. There is good use of two large images, an

eye catching title going across both of the pages. There is also use of

captions on the images and it has been split into 3 columns keeping to the

rule of thirds.
