The masthead shows the
recognisable title of the magazine.
This puff is used to draw the readers attention
towards an aspect of the magazine which they
would be interested in.
The footer is used to show some of the other features
included inside the magazine. Attempting to gain the readers interest
and making them want to read inside.
Barcode is used to scan products
in a shop.
Here is the magazines date line showing the date the magazine was published
for. In this case it also shows the magazine price.
Cover lines are used here in a different way to show some of the artists who
have features in this magazine. Trying to gain
the readers interest.
The main image used shows Jay-Z in a medium long shot. This is a good image to use because he is a famous musician and
also the fact that the image shows him with a guitar and a microphone
further shows the relation to music.
A header is used in this case to show the magazine is a special edition.
A cover line is used here to give extra information
about the main image and also showing the magazines
focus on Glastonbury.
The colour scheme of red and blue is used on the front
cover, along With white and black, which are the only two text
colours used.

may symbolise his dominance in the music industry or perhaps him looking
over Kendrick Lamar as a more experienced father like figure. Also the
clothing that Kendrick Lamar wears in the image makes it stand out to the reader as bright and eye catching colours are used.
The editors note is used to make the reader feel part of
the magazine and give an insight into the editor making
them feel more relatable. Above the editors note is a
small close up picture of the editor. This helps to make
them even more relatable to the reader

convention of a magazine.
Similarly to the editors note the contributors section is
used to make the reader feel like part of the magazine and
relate to thepeople who write it.

The main image on the contents page is of the band the verve. It is a medium shot with
some of the group members in the background and some in the foreground.
Possibly symbolising the importance of the groups frontman who is in the foreground of
the image. A puff is also used telling the reader what page the feature about the
Verve is on. Showing along with the fact that the main image on the page is of the
group, that the magazines main feature is about them.
This magazine contents page has the month of the magazine issue on it.
The Main image used is a medium long shot of 50 Cent. The image used relates to the
rap/hip hop magazine it is used in as the clothing he is wearing
is urban. The fact that he is used in the main image of the magazine clearly shows that the feature about him is the
main feature in the magazine.
The contents page also has a list of the features in the magazine, while also giving out a bit of information about each feature to encourage
the reader to read on.
The page number for the feature on 50 Cent along with his name itself is in much larger font compared to the
rest of the features listed. Once again showing that the feature about
him is the most important in the magazine.

them even more relatable to the reader
Differently to the other contents pages I have seen this one uses lots of smaller images. Just like
the main image these are used to show what pages you can find the features related to the images on.
This advertisement is used to promote a subscription for the magazine. Showing
the magazine is cheaper with a subscription.
A contents page title is used with the issue
number and the date of the magazine.
The Main image used is a medium close up shot of Slash. The image used relates to the
rock magazine it is part of as he is wearing black clothes which relate to the genre. The fact that he is used in the main
image of the magazine clearly shows that the feature about him is the main feature in the
magazine.
Use of puffs to stand out to the
reader.
The magazine title Kerrang is
an onomatopoeia of a guitar string noise this shows the
relation to rock music. Kerrang is shown in a destroyed font
showing connation's with the rock genre.
