MAGNETIC SURVEYFHQJECIS UNff

INTRODUCTION

C or b old Creek Developnents Inc. owns a group of 26

mining claims located in Montgomery and Patton Townships, Sault

Ste. Marie Mining Division, Ontario. In a report dated April

30, 197^ the writer detailed all pertinent facts relating to

the property and its vicinity which, at that time, consisted of

2 blocks of claims: one group of 4 and a second group of 6

claims. Since then 16 additional claims were staked on behalf

of the company and the 2 claim blocks have been Joined and all claims are now contiguous.

The line cutting for this survey and the Instrument reading connected with the survey were done by Messrs. Monty Hall and Joseph Kakish, Contractors, of Toronto. The survey character

and its results were planned and Interpreted by the writer.

PROPERTY AND LOCATION

The property consists of 26 contiguous mining claims

located in the southwest corner of Montgomery Township with 2

claims lying in Patton Township. They are registered in the

Sault Ste. Marie Mining Di vie ion. The claims area approximates

1000 acres and the claims are numbered as follows:SSM 395690,SSM 389309 to SSM 389318,SSM 415513 to SSM 415527.

Access to the property is by car or truck from the village Iron Bridge on Highway 111. From Iron Bridge access is via Highway 546 north for about 10 miles to a southward turning located just northeast of Constance Lake. This unimproved wilderness access road leads southward to the west shore of Corbold Lake and thus unto the claim group.

GENERAL GEOLOGY

The general geology was described in detail in my report of April 30, 1974. In essence, the property is underlain by the Huronian Rock Sequence near the stratographic level of the top of the Mlssissauga Formation, the Bruce Pomratlon, and the base of the Gowganda Formation. These rocks have been Intruded by a very large sill of Nipissing Diabase. Within the Bruce Limestone Formation and near the diabase intrusion, significant amounts of copper mineralization were explored Circa 1964 by the writer. The purpose of the present exploration is to try and extend these known mineral occurrences.

Associated with the copper mineralization are viariable and erratically distributed quantities of magnetite. Within a rock volume of a few ccblc feet the magnetite concentration can become very high while a few feet away the magnetite content may be nil. The result lo an area of highly variable and erratic magnetism which, on any reasonable survey Interval, cannot be continuously

traced from point to point. Therefore it was anticipated that a !magnetic survey might produce a number of erratically distributed

prareas whose magnetic change from background might vary slight to intense either positively or negatively. Such areas would then warrant close prospecting and perhaps diamond drill testing.

SURVEY RESULTS 4 INTERPRETATION

The survey results are both gratifying and surprising. The results are personally gratifying in that areas of magnetic var'atlon were located as was anticipated. The results are surprising in that the zones of magnetic variation link with the known zone of copper mineralization to form a discontinuous Zone of Interest over 3000 feet long and up to 500 feet wide. The Zone of Interest Is obviously discontinuous for on some lines there is no significant magnetic variation, while on other lines the favourable horizon lies under beaver ponds and therefore could not be measured magnetically. However, the survey lines are 400 feet apart, and were they closer together it seems certain that more magnetic responses would be recorded.

The general background level is around 300 gammas. Within the Zone of Interest there are 4 locations recording 6000 gammas and higher - exclusive of the known zone of mineralization. It seems certain that these locations represent magnitlte concentra tions and therefore there is good reason to suspect the presence of chalcopyrite mineralization nearby. There are other locations of 1000 to 1300 gammas which may represent weak concentrations of magnetite. Finally there are some locations of below background

magnetic intensity and of negative magnetic intensity and these ; may be reflections of areas of strong magnetism located to one side of the survey line.

There are locations of modest magnetic Intensity lying to the east and west of the Zone of Interest. These appear isolated and weak except for a wide zone of weak magnetism lying on the west boundary of claim SSM 415515.

Another location which may be of considerable interest lies on the east side of the Cobden River and straddles the boundary between claims SSM 389309 and SSM 395690. Here, a location of strong negative magnetism and one of very weak posi tive magnetism occurs on the river bank. Something of Interest may lie under the river where no survey is possible, A piece of copper bearing float was found in this area In 1964 but no mineral was found in place.

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

The magnetic survey has successfully defined localized areas which seem certain to contain the mineral magnitite. Since, In the immediate area chalcopyrite is known to occur adjacent to magnetite these areas are prime locations to search for copper.

The localized zones of abnormal magnetism occur within a broad scale Zone of Interest some 5000 feet long and 500 feet wide. Within this area there is reason to believe that there are undetected concentrations of magnetite and that these may have copper mineralization associated.Based on the writer's experience In the area, the zones of strong magnetism constitute diamond drill targets. However, in all probability drill holes can be spotted to better advantage If some surface prospecting and electromagnetic surveying precedes the drilling.

I recommend the following. : -a) That all zones of magnetic variation be prospected, by grub hole and shovel.b) That 14 of the Company's 26 claims be surveyed electro- magnetically specifically the following claims:

SSM 395690, SSM 389309, 312, 313, SSM 415513 to 415517, SSM 415523 to 415527.

The estimated cost of the prospecting is ^1000. all inclusive and will require two men for about 5 days. The estimated cost of the Ronka EM16 survey is ^1725. all inclusive and represents about 16 line miles of surveying.

My report is respectfully submitted.
