School of Business Communicator, July, 2015
Message from the Dean Welcome to the Madonna University School of Business. We are the premier provider
of baccalaureate and graduate business education in the Livonia, MI area. The upcom-
ing 2015-2016 school year is a very important year for us. It is our “Self-Study”
year. We will demonstrate our compliance and excellence in business education as
outlined by (6) standards of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Pro-
grams (ACBSP) global accrediting body.
We are coming off of an amazing academic year! All of our undergraduate and graduate business programs have been restruc-
tured and strengthened to better match and meet the needs of employers of all sizes and types. We developed both a Business
Advisory Board (BAB) and a Student and Stakeholder Advisory Council (SSAC) as a means to better listen to and hear from inter-
nal and external stakeholders. In addition, the School of Business faculty built and implemented a comprehensive Assurance of
Learning (AOL) system to ensure that key learning outcomes are measured in each of
our degree offerings. Please know that the entire faculty and staff of the School of Busi-
ness is committed to preparing each of our students to excel in all areas of business
acumen.
As you read through this year’s Communicator Newsletter, you will have the opportunity
to rewind and reflect through the 2014-2015 Academic Year. Do enjoy and thanks again
for your participation and support of the Madonna University School of Business!
Vision Statement
The Madonna University School of Business aspires to be a leading provider of business

call or stop by the office to schedule a time to chat!
Most sincere and kindest regards,

Have You Met With an Advisor?
DO YOU KNOW THAT SEEING YOUR ADVISOR FOR A PERIODIC UPDATE CAN
SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY?
New to Madonna’s School of Business? Not sure what to study or even if you want to study a ma-
jor in business? See Lindsay Rucinski, our Advisor and Coordinator, to discuss such issues.
Lindsay has an excellent insight into programs in business at Madonna because she earned both
her undergraduate business degree and her MBA here. Each undergraduate and graduate stu-
dent should also make an appointment with Lindsay after being admitted to a School of Business
program. The purpose of this meeting is to go over program requirements and prepare a plan of
study.
Each student also has a faculty advisor. You should see this person to chart progress in your ma-
jor, discuss academic problems you face, learn about possible internships in your major, and for
general advising.
One of the advantages of attending Madonna is your access to sound academic advising. Take
advantage of the opportunity. Lindsay’s office is in room M121 of the Maertens Building. Call
734 432-5361 or make an appointment with the School of Business Secretary at 734 432-5354.

Business, a commitment by both parties to student success, and students
who desire a western degree from an accredited university.
