Madisonville Junior High School The Eagle Times January 2014 Newsletter presented by Madisonville Junior High PTA From Mr. Kern Hello MJH Families, I hope everyone had a good Christmas break! We had a busy December as our wonderful band did a magnificent job at their Christmas concert led by Dominick Messina. Our very talented choir students did an excellent job at their Christmas concert in our new choir room led by Becky McLain. As we begin the second semester of the school year, I want to continue to encourage all of our students to follow our school wide expectations of Safe, Organized, Always kind, & Respectful. Our school, partnering with Lancaster Elementary, will have Rachel’s Challenge (RC) return to MJH on January 28th. RC visited our school two years ago with a powerful message and assisted us in building positive behavior lessons such as our Community Circles. Go to www.rachelschallenge.org for more information. We will be sending additional correspondence home by mid January with listings of times, including the evening community assembly at Lancaster. Dwayne J. Kern, M.Ed. Any student that will leave MJH at the end of this year to attend a private school, or to move out of district or state, must fill out a Withdrawal Form prior to the end of this school year. Any questions concerning this contact Mrs. Pam in the office. Thank you! Car Line Update! Parents please be advised that our car line starts for 2:15pm. Rouse's Market has a “Best Choice Save- a-Label” Program that can help MJH raise funds for our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) program! The Save-a-Label program is an extremely successful program which helps non-profit organizations raise money. Currently, there are 11,000 non-profit groups participating in the program. These groups earn $.03 for each Best Choice UPC symbol redeemed, with a minimum of 1,000 labels required for redemption. It's easy – just save the labels of Rouse's Best Choice products. Be sure to leave the UPC portion (proof of purchase). MJH will earn $30 for every 1,000 labels. Labels may be turned in at any time.
