2. Macbeth- Brave Scottish Solider Lady Macbeth - Macbeths wife King Duncan-King of Scotland Malcolm -King Duncans older son Donalbain-King Duncans other son Banquo - Friend of Macbeth Fleance- Banquos son Macduff-Another Scottish thane Lady Macduff- Macduffs wife 3. The play started on a very rainy day, wherethere was no sun or moon, and nobodyknew whether it was day or night Three witches appeared and started todiscuss when their next meeting would be They decided to meet when Macbeth cameback from the battle 4. Therewas a war between Scottish &NorwegiansMacbeth and Banquo were the leaders oftheir countrys victory 5. WhenMacbeth & Banquo returned from thebattle, they encountered three witches They were surprised at the sight of thewitches saying; Macbeth; so foul and fair aday I have not seen Banquo: what arethese, so withered and so wild in their attire,are you creatures of this would or someother? Macbeth; Are you living or dead?Speak! 6. The witches gave Macbeth & Banquo three prophesies, they were as follows:1) Macbeth will be thane of Cawdor2) Macbeth will be king3) Banquos sons will be kings 7. At first, Macbeth didnt believe them, so heasked them to explain to him what they meant. He said By sinels death I know I am Thane ofGlamis; But how of Cawdor? The Thane ofCawdor lives, a prosperous gentleman; and tobe king, Stand not within the prospect of belief,No more than to be Cawdor. Say from whence,you owe this strange intelligence? Or why, uponthis blasted heath you stop our way, with suchprophetic greating? Speals I charge you (act.1-71-77). The witches then vanished 8. After the witches vanished, a messengercome from the king and informed Macbeththat he was now the Thane of Cawdor This surprised Macbeth, and he started tothink that the if one of the witchesprophesies became true, then so might theothers, and he might become King 9. Lady Macbeth got a letter from her husbandtelling her about the witches and theirprophesies. She got very excited and began picturing hersoon to be kingdom. She knew her husband was weak, so shebegan planning how they were going tooverthrow the king. When Macbeth arrived from battle, she toldhim all he had to do was to be capable ofcommitting the deed, and they would havethe throne. 10. After the battle King Duncan told Macbeththat he will be visiting Macbeth at hiscastle. He also announced that his son Malcolmwill be the king after him. Lady Macbeth prepared her self. She welcomed the guests and provided aspecial dinner and entertainment for theKing 11. Wheneveryone had gone to bed, Macbethwas walking alone and thinking about howhe could murder his king. Lady Macbeth followed him and said Areyou afraid to let your actions be as bold asyour desires? Macbeth eventually killed the king, but hefelt very guilty. He said, "sleep no more! Macbeth dothmurder sleep. Act.2.2-37. 12. AfterKing Duncans death, strange thingshappened in the castle. Macbeth murdered the guards & he beganpreparing for his rule of the kingdom. Banquo suspected Macbeth, because hedidnt forget what the witches said. King Duncans sons got scared and decided toflee for their lives. 13. Macbethset up a plan for the murder ofBanquo and Fleance. He told the murders; it is concluded. Banquothy souls flight, if it find it out tonight Banquo suspected what was happening, so he made a plan himself. He took his son for a walk and they preparedto escape just in case. 14. Unfortunately,the murders managed tocatch and kill Banquo, but luckily his sonFleance managed to run away. When Macbeth thinks about his friendBanquos death he feels happy. He says; "I had else been perfect. Banquos ghost appears at diner time, andMacbeth begins to think he is going crazy 15. Lady Macbeth is worried , she is no longerinterested in being queen. Macbeth looses control, and Lady Macbethtries to settle him down.
