Hello Students, Parents, Carers and local Community members, Term four is almost over with only a couple of weeks to go. We said farewell to our Year 12 students on 20 November 2015 and they all looked wonderful in their for-mal attire. I wish them all the best for their future pathways in life. Year 10 and 11 finished on Friday 27
November leaving Years 7, 8 and 9 to be the only students at school
for the next two weeks. It is important and compulsory that every one of these students attend school until the Friday 11 December 2015, which is the official last day of school, as structured educational programs will continue until the last day. I would like to thank everyone and especially students for the improvement that has been made with attend-ance. At the end of 2014 whole school attendance was 78.1% and as of today attendance is currently sitting at 81.8%. Whilst we have not achieved our goal for this year of 88% I believe it is a significant improvement. Below I have shown the attendance at Mount Morgan High for the last three years and the gauge clearly shows significant improvement over past years.
2013 2014 2015 with 2 weeks to go Year 12 final attendance 2015
Well done year 12.
Enrolment interviews are currently occurring for year 6 into year 7. Year 6 into 7 transition day is Monday 7 December 2015, a copy of the schedule is on page 4 of this issue.
We will be doing our very best to increase attendance during 2016 and will be appreciative of everyone’s support to have every student at school for every lesson every day.
Thank you everyone for all your support this year, I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Mount Morgan State High School over the last 5 terms and I am pleased to be working here in 2016.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Regards,
Trevor Rickertt – Principal
