Attire Guidelines 2019
Acceptable Attire
School Uniform
Neat, Respectful, PresentableThe school uniform is the most visible representation of our identity, so wear it with pride! Queenstownians are
expected to dress neatly (tucked in) in their uniforms without any modifications. The uniform is to be worn
whenever Queenstownians come to school or attend school related activities, including those during school
vacation.

Only plain white socks are allowed and it must be clearly visible at all times. (above shoe line)

Must be sewed on, 1-2 cm above the left pocket

QTSS Attire (Non-Negotiable)
1) To confiscate/ correct on the spot or2) To be sent home (refer to Discipline

Religious Accessories
• Students allowed to wear religious accessories but it must be kept out of sight
• Form teacher should be informed about the religious accessories in writing (with photo(s) showing how and where the accessories are worn)
Boy’s Attire
QTSS expectation Hair- Boys
Boys are to keep their hair short and neat. The hair should have slope at the side and back, not touching the ears or collar respectively. The fringe must not touch the eyebrows.
Boys should be clean-shaven at all times and facial hair is not to be kept.

Girl’s Attire
QTSS expectation Girls- Hair
Girls are to keep their hair neat at all times with their fringes not touching the eyebrow. (Loose hair or fringe must be tied up)
Students with long hair must have it plaited or tied up.
Hair clips or ribbons that are worn should be in navy blue or black in colour.
QTSS expectation Girls- Skirts
No modificationto school skirt
There should be no modification to the school skirt. The bottom of the skirt must be no more than 3 fingers spacing above knees.
Ear Studs (no larger than 4mm)-Small, round, black/ navy blue, gold or silver ear studs-Only 1 pair is allowed for girls only @ the bottom of the ear lobe (as shown)
Ear Sticks- Only 1 pair of dark/ transparent ear sticks allowed- No other accessories (ie. Lanyards) to be worn anywhere else

School Ties
School Tie
• Students are required to be in their school ties for every Monday’s morning assembly.
• School ties must be worn neatly and smartly
• School ties are not required for afternoon assemblies
Students without school ties
• Students without ties are required to purchase/ borrow one from their form teacher before assembly
• Students who attend assemblies without ties will be seated at the back of the queue.
• Those without school tie will be addressed and faced consequence(s) meted out by form teachers
PE Attire
PE attire
• To be tucked in and worn in a neat and presentable manner
• Student are only allowed to change into PE attire only at the start of PE lesson (morning and afternoon PE)
• After PE lesson, students are to change back into their school uniform during recess time.
• If PE lesson is held after recess time, students are allowed to be in PE attire for the rest of the day

CCA Attires/ Class T-shirt
CCA attire
• Students are only allowed to be in official CCA attires as required by respective CCA teacher-in-charge during CCA trainings
• If it is not mentioned, students should be in their QTSS attire (uniform or PE) during CCA periods
• Uniform Groups are to wear their uniform, in accordance to their respective UG HQ’s requirement
Class T-shirt
- Class T shirt must carry at least QTSS logo, “QUEST” or “Queenstown Secondary School”
- Please forward the T-shirt designs to SH/SM, HOD/CCE, HOD/CCA for approval 2 weeks before printing your class t shirt
- Class T-shirts can only be worn on special events approved by the school (ie. Inter-class games)
