With free-fall lifeboats, the platform topside will also function as the main mustering area for search & rescue and emergency preparedness operations. Bound for the Greater ekofisk Area, offshore Stavanger, the ekofisk platform will be installed in 80 metres water depth in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

to celebrate the platform’s completion, highlights of the sail-away ceremony included a Javanese dance performance, speeches by senior management representatives from conocoPhillips and SMoe as well as a safety award presentation to SMoe’s conocoPhillips project team for achieving 11.3 million manhours without lost time incidents during the project period from April 2010 to June 2013.

the festivities continued well into the night with a cocktail and dinner reception at Shangri-la Hotel attended by 320 management and project team members from conocoPhillips and SMoe as well as other industry partners.
