Tank Cradle Forms
Manhours for sills, lintels and coping are based on the fabrication and erection in place of one and two-inch material, all properly braced, anchored and supported.
Manhours for balconies and ornamental projections of one and two-inch sheating and plywood, along with minor fabrication furnished sheet metal shapes, have been given due consideration in the above table.
Manhours for column and beam pocket and fireproof encasement forms are based on the use of one and two inch planks and plywood as may necessary for these operation.
Manhours are based on the fabrication and installation of two-inch materials for formwork to eighteen inches high, and plywood sheating for forms to four feet high, all properly braced and anchored in place.
A simple layout is that of a small square pad pored either integral with floor or over pre-set dowels left purposely in pre-poured floor for this reason.
Manhours do not include the placement or setting of anchor bolts or miscellaneous embedded steel items. See respective tables for these charges.

Complex Foundation manhours are average for all sizes and shapes and are based on the use of one and two-inch planking, plywood sheating and minor sheet metal cuts and bends.
A complex layout is that of large and bulky foundation with many offsets, skew and angles, such as a foundation for turbo-generator, etc.
Manhours do npt include the placement or setting of anchor bolts or miscellaneous embedded steel items. See respective tables for these charges.
The above re-use factor manhours should be substituted for the initial fabrication manhours for all formworks, in accordance with its estimated re-uses.
If major repairs are required for re-use of forms work, it should be charged at initail fabrication for that particular type of form works.

Truck Driver
Total (Mhrs/Unit)
The manhours that follow are an average of many projects of varied nature. They include handling and hauling of fabricated items from storage yard or warehouse to within one thousand (1000) feet of erection site and installation of items.
Units do not include time for flat sketch man or field engineer, if these items are required and are to be charged to the direct cost, they must be added.
If project is to be constructed in an area where craft jurisdiction differs from that as shown above, the correct craft should be substituted and the same manhours as apperars above applied.

Chuting units include the erection of minor prefabricated wood chutes and supports. If the operation consist of chuting concrete direct from truck with attached steel chutes, carpentry manhours throughout the tables should be eliminated.
Buggy units include the moving of hand powered, three to six cubic feet buggies a distance up to two hundred (200) feet. If distance is to be greater than two hundred feet add .05 manhours for each additional fifty (50) linear feet. If power buggies are to be used instead of hand type, decrease the manhours througout the following tables for this operation by twenty (20) percent.
Conveyor and buggy units include the transporting of concrete in to a preset hopper and discharging into buggies for placement into forms, buggy portions of these units have been given due consideration as outlined above for buggy units.
Crane, bucket and buggy units include the placing of concrete from truck or mixer into one-half to two cubic yard bucket, the raising and positioning of bucket by a crane, the discharge of concrete from bucket into a preset hopper which is to be discharged into buggies for placement into forms. Buggy portion of mahours time for this type installation is similar to that as out-lined above for buggy units.
Hoist and buggy units includes the hoisting of pre-mixed concrete in bulk, dumping into hopper which wiil discharge into buggies for transporting and dumping into forms. Manhours for buggy portion of this type operation are as outlined under buggy units. It is not the intent of the hoist units to suffice for an elevator type hoist capable of moving loaded buggies from ground to elevated areas. If this required, additional manhours must be added for this portion.
The individual placing units as appear under this section do not include the fabrication of chutes, hoist or platforms or finishing. These items are convered under separate operational tables in this section.

10 Masonry:
The following notes apply to all masonry manhours tables except where noted on individual pages.
If walls are to be cavity type, increase total manhours in the tables by the following percentage.Cavity walls to 250 mm thick = 22 percentCavity walls to 500mm inches thick = 12 percent
It is not the intent of this section to cover all types and kinds of masonry works but rather to cover those which are fimiliar with in some types of industrial construction.
The following manhours and percentage tables are based on averages of several projects installed under varied conditions where strict methods and preplanning were followed and strict reporting actual cost was recorded.
We do not attemp to that a mason can lay any given number of brick or tile in a day. Quite contrary to this, we have found that it is not what they can lay but what they will lay. This is dependent upon the conditions and location of the individual project. Condition are covered under the introduction to this manual and should be thoroughly understood before attempting to apply the following manhours tables. As to location, we have actually found that productivity for this type of work is better in the southern and southwestern states than in any other part of the country.
The following manhours tables cover as may be required for this type of work in strict accordance with the preceding general notes and notes as listed on the individual manhours table pages.
Manhours are based on continous walls with normal amount of opening laid in common bond using full headers with 1/2 inch flush cut cement mortar joints and are average for interior and exterior work where applicable.
Mixing of mortar is assumed to be by machine. If mortar is to be handmixed, add 2.48 manhours of mortar mixer time per cubic meter mixed.
If type of bond or joint is to be different than those outlined above, apply percentages as appear on respective table for these operations.
If lime mortar is to be used instead of cement mortar, decrease mason manhours in the following tables on (1) percent.
Manhours tables include necessary time as may be required for the machine mixing and supplying of mortar to masons, the supplying and placing of masonry units in the desired location for installation by masons, and the placement or laying of masonry units by masons.
Hoisting operator manhours are based on use of man-operated hoist. If automatic hoist is used to place units and mortar at higher level, eliminate hoist engineer manhours and add 0.25 for helper manhours per units as listed in the following tables.

If wall are to be 3.6 meter high, use manhours for 6.0 meter height, etc. If walls are to be higher than 15 meters manhours by one-half of one 91/2 of 1) percent for each additional 3 meters or any part thereof, up to and including 30 meters and by one (1) percent for each additional 3 meters or any part thereof through 60 meters.
The following manhours tables do not include unloading and hauling of masonry units to installation site, the cleaning of masonry units after installation, caulking or pointing, installation of hoist or installation of scaffolding. The items are covered on individual tables and should be given separate consideration.
