Fr. Tomás Hurtado
The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, …
will teach you everything and remind
you of all that I told you.
Dear Community of St. Augustine, We are ending our Pascal experience. The first Sundays we listen to the evangelical texts of the apparitions of the Risen Christ to His disciples, whereas the readings from the Acts of the Apostles have shown us the beginnings of our Church. Today, Jesus teach us about the Holy Spirit, the Advocate, the one who brings comfort to the faithful, that God the Father sends in the Name of His Son. He will be in charge of teaching us and reminding us the Words of Jesus. The promise of the Lord that we hear in the Gospel of St. John (14:23-29). We hear how it is kept in the First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles. It is the Holy Spirit the one who helps us to make decisions, the one who guides and strengthens the community when facing new challenges. How can we see the actions of the Holy Spirit in our community? The best examples are the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion that we recently celebrated. The Holy Spirit has taught, guided and strengthen the children, the youth and the adults who received them, they have deepened their relationship with our God, and this is why we can say Thank You Lord! with a grateful heart. How can we see the actions of the Holy Spirit in our lives? This Monday we celebrate Memorial Day. We remember in a special way all men and women who have died in military service for the United States. We honor them gratefully for defending freedom at the high cost of their lives, and we pray to God that He may grant them eternal life.
El Paráclito, el Espíritu Santo, …
les enseñará todas las cosas y les
recordará todo cuanto yo les he dicho.
Querida comunidad de San Agustín,
Estamos concluyendo nuestra experiencia pascual.
The Clergy and Staff of St. Augustine Parish extend prayerful best wishes to Fr. Michael Giglio on the joyful occasion of his 25th Anniversary of Priestly Ordination.
Thank you for your holy devotion to the Lord and to His Church.
Ordained: 5/28/1994

stewardship reminds us, “that ‘life to come’ is in continuity with this present life through the human goods, the worthy
human purposes, which people foster now.”
