MRI Vocational Training institute has

completed 11 years of existence. Makhija Trust

in Collaboration with Rotary Indiranagar made up

this Institute for a noble reason, ―gift a skill to the

ambitious youth for their livelihood‖. From a

humble beginning in Feb 2000 it has overcome

many hurdles to reach its present status of

development and strength. It needs a gentle hand

to nurture and help it to blossom into an Institute to

reckon with.

MRI VTI has got good infrastructure with

auditorium, multi storied building, landscaped

the student will be in a position to start his/her career in just 90 days.

The power of MRI Teaching Techniques

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

Most of the MRI SKILLS students come from a background that requires them to be independent from the moment they finish the

course. There is more to learn in spite of technical education i.e.

their personality development. At MRI SKILLS personality development means:

Right grooming.

Confidence building.

Public speaking.

Character building.

Increasing general knowledge in Information Technology.

COMPUTER BASED TEACHING

Students today need to be motivated to learn, as their attention span is limited as a result of being exposed to fast-paced

entertainment, video games and computers. These students are technically savvy and it is difficult to hold their attention for long

time. They crave for entertainment while learning practical; job related skills and they expect to get it individually on new

technological platforms. To make students more attentive MRI SKILLS has devised a teaching methodology. The sessions are

visual driven and 100% percent practical oriented. The visuals grab more attention and ensure better retention. The sessions are

taught to the students via slide presentations. The sessions appearing on the screen are the same as those appear in the course

ware sessions. Using this technology; it is easy to discuss topics amongst students.

COURSEWARE

Learning is made up of three elements - faculty, courseware and lab work. If this chain breaks, complete learning is difficult to

achieve. A revolutionary method of on-line teaching consists of mirroring the course content on every computer in the form of

slides. This increases the retention power of participants by more than 25% and increases the repeat impact. MRI SKILLS

students will be greatly benefited through these methods.

PRACTICALS

Since MRI SKILLS believes in the philosophy of "What I Hear, I Forget, What I See, I Remember, What I Do, I Understand".

Practicals are an integral part of it's training. MRI SKILLS training consists of 90% practicals. More hands on experience makes

students industry fit and help them in solving most of the problems easily. Whatever is learnt by the student in theory is

experienced in practicals. Results of practical convince the students about the verification of Theory. Here the principle "Practice

makes the man prefect" is implemented. Everyday in the class the student is taught the theory first, and then he/she performs the

practical on their own. More he/she does the practical, more perfects he/ she becomes.

PROJECTS

Once students complete the Module-I, they have mastered the skills required for Basics. They have to do live project based on

Basics etc. This includes purchasing from the Market and executing it using the tools with the help of faculty. This helps in

understanding how the different lessons they have learnt earlier are used in practical. Also when students complete Modules

(II+III+IV), students acquire basic knowledge of course. They have to do a project based on Market Survey of components in the

trade. They have to visit different vendors and get the information about products. They get knowledge about the different

manufacturers, prices, technical specifications, etc.

MILLY (Most Important Lesson Learnt Yesterday)

Students have to submit a written MILLY daily. The most important lesson learnt yesterday has to be neatly written and submitted

to the faculty before the next lesson is taken up. This helps to revise the lesson and gets fixed in the mind. The student's energy

is thus utilized in a focused manner and the knowledge acquired is useful when they start working. Faculty plays an important role

as they guide and help students in completing the project successfully. The project is compulsory and is evaluated during

examination. Since students do it on their own, they remember it for a long time. Since group students do a project, they learn

about teamwork and discipline, which will be useful, when they start their career.

These projects are followed with project report, that is, it is sent to their prospective employers.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

It is one of the components of MRI SKILLS's Smartlab Plus. The main aim is to make the students aware of the working

environment they will face after completion in the employment. With this awareness the students get:

Success story of the employer.

How to deal with the market.

How to see the future in the trade.

Trained in the art of being interviewed.

This assists students to cultivate and improve their presentation, conduct and readiness for the future.

THE TRAINING METHODOLOGY 120/20/8 Formula: MRI SKILLS's most successful teaching technique. "Use Both Sides of Your Brain" says that research indicates that the average adult can listen with understanding for ninety minutes but can only listen with retention for twenty minutes. That means we need a distinct change-up or change of pace every twenty minutes. Based on this research MRI SKILLS evolved with rule 120/20/8. The class is no more than 120 minutes. The pace changes every 20 minutes. Every 8 minutes the student is involved. So, the brain remains fresh and active. USING THIS TECHNIQUE

BEAUTY CULTURE & HEALTH CARE SECTION

Training for running Beauty Parlor is given to the students of this section. Pedicure, Manicure,

Threading, waxing, many types of Hair Cuts, perming, Hair Straightening,Henna, Mehandi,

Bridal Make-up, Machine Therapies are the important aspects taught in the Beauty Culture

Training.

RETAIL SKILLS SECTION

Training given to students about the Retail Market with Store experience by the Certified

Retail Trainer from INDIA SKILLS. LEVEL 1 RETAIL Certificate is given to the students.

Inventory, Cash, Billing, VAT etc are taught to the students with practical.

PARIVARTHAN TUTORIALS

Spoken English for IELTS, TOEFL & Communicative English taught by Prof. Rajendran
