New Vehicle to Help Keep Calderdale Safe Calderdale Council has invested in a new CCTV vehicle to help ensure the borough continues to be a safe place to live, work and visit. The vehicle is fitted with three high definition cameras which can capture CCTV footage when deployed across Calderdale. It has been funded by the Council as part of a commitment to road safety and keeping communities safe. The van has been welcomed by bars and clubs around Calderdale, continuing to enhance our offer as a great place for a night out. It also complements the Purple Flag safety award for Halifax town centre, which recognises excellence in the management of the evening and night time economy. The van has already been used in Halifax town centre over recent weekends to assist West Yorkshire Police and is another resource that is used by the Council’s Community Safety Wardens, who already monitor the Council’s CCTV cameras across the borough. The Council is a lead partner in Calderdale’s Community Safety Partnership, which also includes West Yorkshire Police, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Yorkshire Ambulance Service. The new van is a vital resource to support the work of the partnership and as well as operating around road safety issues, it can be utilised to tackle anti-social behaviour, reduce crime and provide visible presence and reassurance. Waste and Recycling Collection Dates August Bank Holiday 2018 Waste and recycling collection dates will be affected by the August Bank Holiday mainly by going back one day. Is Someone Missing Their Friday Flyer? New Vehicle to Help Keep Calderdale Safe Calderdale Council has invested in a new CCTV vehicle to help ensure the borough continues to be a safe place to live, work and visit. The vehicle is fitted with three high definition cameras which can capture CCTV footage when deployed across Calderdale. It has been funded by the Council as part of a commitment to road safety and keeping communities safe.
