Oviedo

Oviedo is the capital of

Asturias. There you can go

shopping, eat in different types

of restaurants or go

sightseeing. It´s near Mieres,

about 15 minutes by car.

Important places to visit

include: The San Salvador’s

Cathedral, The Consistorial and

Calatrava. Calatrava is an

enormous shopping centre.

There are some restaurants

too.

Mieres

Mieres is located in the centre

of the province of Asturias. It

has 144 square kilometres. It

has 4,459 inhabitants.

The main river is Caudal river.

Mieres´ climate is colder than

the rest of Asturian cities. In

the summer, the climate is hot,

and in the winter, it gets very

cold. In Mieres you can visit

“Requejo Square”, “La villa “ or

the “Jovellano´s Park.” In

“Requejo” you can drink cider,

the typical Asturian drink.

Covadonga

In Asturias you can visit

Covadonga. It´s in the north of

the province between Los Picos

de Europa, the largest group of

mountains in Spain, and the

Cantabrian Sea. Los Picos de

Europa are the most famous

mountains of Asturias which

include : the Western one or “

Del Cornion”, the centre or “ De

Urrielles” and the oriental one

or “ De Andara”.
