 Aimed at speakers of other languages, this course equips students with the basic toolsrequired to teach English as a Foreign Language and is also an excellent refresher anddevelopment course for established teachers of English. It is also suitable preparation for theTeaching Knowledge Test.

• Afternoon option on LSI Intensive 30 course• Intermediate to advanced levels• Minimum class size: 10• TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) exam preparation offered covering 3 TKT modules

over 4 weeks

Topics covered• Language analysis• Lesson planning• Teaching the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking• Classroom activities

• Using resources and materials• Looking at learners’ needs• Dealing with learners’ mistakes 

The Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is produced by Cambridge ESOL to prepare teachers toteach English to speakers of other languages. It aims to increase teachers' confidence andenhance job prospects by developing the knowledge needed by teachers of primary,secondary, or adult learners, anywhere in the world. The TKT is not a teaching qualification.

Cambridge requirements are that the TKT exam will not be held in any centre around theworld if there are not 10 examination candidates booked for each exam. Please contact theLSI centre to confirm if it is possible for your student(s) to sit the TKT exam at the end of their course.

 Any student wishing to prepare for and take the TKT is strongly advised to have at least anintermediate level of English. Students will be required to keep a portfolio.
