1. WHAT IS LAMAN SENI 7
Laman Seni 7” is the continuity of “Laman Seni 2” project. . Similar to the previous project in Section 2, this project will
be focusing on the improvement of the backlane. This project will be directing more towards art and architecture
appreciation. It will be a platform for the younger generations especially students, to express their talents and fresh
ideas. In short, “Laman Seni 7” is aimed to be the focal point for the youth to congregate to utilize the given space
for the benefit of the community.
2. COMPETITION CONSIST OF 4 CATEGORY :
1. 3D Painting 2. 3D Installation 3. Street Furniture 4. Painting On Site
And 10 contestants from each categories will selected.
3. AIM
- Encourage creativity for the artist.
- Expose locals to the new urban art and give them platform to appreciate the arts.
- Improve the surrounding aesthetic value.
4. ELIGIBILITY
There is no age, or profession limits, the contest is open to all, except for the organizers of Laman Seni 7, MBSA
associates, the jury or any of their family members. The winner will feature as a design for part of the Laman Seni 7 at
Seksyen 7 Shah Alam, Selangor. There is no entry fee.
5. PARTICIPATIONS TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Urban Art contest is open to individuals or groups (in which case a representative will be required) with the
submission of up to 2 entries each. Works can only be submitted online following the uploading procedure at
Each contestant will include the following details in electronic form:
- Contestant or Group name (representative in the case of a group)
- Contact number
- Website / Fan Page ( facebook ) / Online portfolio
- Title of the artwork
- English / Malay description in 100 words max.
- Submission category (1_3D Painting, 2_3D Installation, 3_Street Furniture, 4_Painting on Site);
If contestant’s art work is selected as a winner and she/he will agree to do the final installation on site. We will provide
further information for them to continue on site.

6. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Files must meet the following requirements (upon pain of exclusion):
- 1 file of Ms. Word (Doc.) that contains contestant’s information and art description in 100 words max
- 1 file of jpeg/pdf file of the art work.
- 1 file of jpeg / pdf file of the art work superimposed with site picture provided by KHZNH Studio. - References (Portfolio)*
*The references of the previous work done. It can be in the online portfolio website such as, ISSUU, Tumblr, Facebook
or any other online media. The previous works must be in the same mould as the category that you are contested.

7. LANGUAGES
The only admitted languages to fill in the electronic form are English and Malay. However, the art work that contains
text components can necessarily be in English, Malay, Chinese or Tamil.
8. EVALUATION CRITERIA
There will be two phase of evaluation.
- 1st Phase : 10 selected entries from online applications.
- 2nd Phase : Competition.
Evaluation criteria for selection will be based on:
originality, quality in relation to efficiency of message communication and emotional aspects expressed by the art
work. Files will be automatically renamed to guarantee anonymity during jury evaluation.
The design can be applied either on the wall or the road. The size of the mural is flexible and depends on the size of
the given site. The material used for this design should be long lasting and able to resist any defects such as corrosion
and rust. The street furniture should be practical for the public to utilize

9. RULES and GUIDELINES
1 - The concept will be provided by the organizer.
2 - The artwork must be original.
3 - Organizer encourage the contestant to explore unorthodox method of making urban art.
4 - The artwork must avoid any controversial, political and unhealthy issue.
5 - The scale of the art must be within the capability of the contestant.
6 - All contestants must complete within the given time.
7 - All graffiti must be completed on the selected location.
8 - The organizer are not obligated to supply paint or other materials.
9 - The organizer has the full ownership and copyright of the artwork with credit to the original owner.
10 - Participants shall not infringe any rights of any third parties, including in particular any and all intellectual
property rights and/or copyrights.
11 - Competitors who are rude, abusive or deemed otherwise unsuitable by the organisers will be disqualified from
the competition.
12 - Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges selected by organizer and decision will be final.
10. DEADLINE
Works can be submitted starting from 18 April, 2014 (Friday) up until midnight (11:59 p.m) of 16 May, 2014 (Friday). Art work received after the established deadline will not be considered for the contest.
11. AWARDS
10 best entries selected by the jury after the all the final installation is done. The jury will take place in May 2014 and
the finalist will be published online on www.facebook.com/khznhstudio within May, 2014
