LS – 1C03 TIPS

1. ID Questions – 10 concepts, events, union names terms. Choose 5

Relate with the broader topic more than the definition (why is this term important? Then relate)

o i.e. Employer Commitments – used to measure precarity to or security of work.

2. Essay Questions – Out of 6 essay questions/topics – Choose 2 and explain your position

25 mins each on essay questions Structure:

a. Introduction (agree or disagree on statement + define the topic/ideas mentioned)

b. 2-3 solid arguments (relate to the broader context again + support with evidence)

c. Conclusion (re-instate you position from the introduction) Basically the thirteen topics that we learned (broad based of weeks topic)

o i.e. racialized workers, precarious work, great middle class, golden age, neoliberalism as a political project, technology and innovation in globalization, Global North vs. Global South, colour coded labour market, immigrant workers credentials, global women, precarity vs. standard employment relationships
