Take a course in biophysics! In this course you apply experimental and theoretical approaches from physics to explore the properties and behaviour of biological systems. A special focus in this course is made on acquaintance with principles and capabilities of modern experimental methods in biophysics. You will get an overview of the multidisciplinary subject of modern biophysics. The course incorporates fundamental physics, biochemistry and biology with applications for biomaterials, medicin, biomimetics, nanotechnology and sensors. The course is of interest for students from various disciplines. How do nature`s micromachines work? What does nature on the nanoscale? How do we investigate on the nanoscale? Muscles? Neurologiical deseases? Sight? What about the future? To whom? For you, physics or non-physics student. We recommend previous knowledge such as the basic physics and mathematics courses at the Master of Engineering programs. How? Class lectures, three compulsory lab demonstrations and one mandatory seminar. The examination to pass could be "continous" i.e. with home assignments, solving chapter exercises etc. On request, the course will be given in english.
