Loyd Hall Plantation

History Loyd Hall is located in Rapides Parish. This
plantation was built in 1810 by one of the famous English insurance family.The present owner is Anne Fitzgerald.
Architectural Style Georgian House Two and a half
constructed of slave made bricks with six square cypress columns on brick pillars.
18 foot ceilings ornamented with plaster cornices and medallions.
Facts
The present owner of Loyd Hall is Anne Fitzgerald. Loyd Hall also offers bed and breakfast accommodations. The Yankees used the house as headquarters and left a couple of bullet holes. Loyd Hall is 2 1/2 stories. It was built in 1810 and remodeled in 1830.
Conclusion /Ending
Mr. & Mrs. Frank Fitzgerald brought the plantation in 1948. It overlooks Bayou Boeuf near Cheneyville. Loyd Hall is still the center of a working plantation.
