Create your own camouflaged creature, learn how beak design impacts a bird’s ability to survive and more! Spooky Science Extravaganza: In celebration of Halloween, join us for a spooky day of science! Make your own fake blood, slimy snot, and more as you learn about movie makeup and special effects. Rocket Power: Soar into outer space as we explore Newton’s Laws and the science behind rocket power! Watch as we create exploding rockets powered by chemical reactions and create your own high-flying balloon rocket. Dinosaur Detectives: Explore the world of paleontology (or the study of earth’s past) as you learn about how fossils form. Examine real fossils, perform your own scientific ‘dig’ using a tasty treat and create your own fossil impression. Brain Games: Discover the wonders of the human brain as you learn about the way your nervous system works. Create a class nervous system model as you explore the way information travels to and from your brain. Put your brain to the test with hands-on games! Art Extravaganza: Learn about the basics of painting as you experiment with watercolor and tempera painting. Discover the techniques artists use when layering paint colors, creating sketches and more. Get inspired as we look at the artworks currently on a view at IMAS! Extreme Weather: Become a meteorologist as you learn about extreme weather. Join us for a brief show in our Science on a Sphere exhibit. Build a structure on our earthquake table, create a tornado in a bottle and more! Robot Designer: Dive into the world of robotics as you learn about the basic elements of robot engineering. Build a robot arm using found materials, drive one of our EV3 robots and learn more about programming language.
