DESCRIPTION
There is a divide between the lay person’s perception of Islam and its true teachings. Many may harbour concerns about Islam, perhaps through ignorance or through the portrayal of events in the media. It may surprise some but the portrayal of Islam in the media is of greatest concern to Muslims than anyone else, particularly when it leads to the association of deeds and values that we know are at complete odds with the Islamic faith. Such concerns are not new and it was in responding to questions about Islam that the third successor the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community underlined that according to Islam human beings are all equal before God. He added that: “Islam teaches us to live with mutual love and affection and with humility. It teaches us no distinction between a Muslim or a non-Muslim. My message to everyone is that you must have ‘Love for all, Hatred for none!’[Review of Religions, March 2008]

With this desire for peace, our communityhas grown and is now established in morethan 195 countries with a following of 160million and in the UK we are one of theoldest Muslim organisations, established in1913.
Our current spiritual leader (Khalifa)remains devoted to peace and reminds usthat:
“Islam teaches us to always be mindful
towards God Who is our Creator and to
always keep His memory fresh in our
hearts and to deal with His creation with
love, affection, harmony and tolerance.”
In Britain, our community continues to raisehundreds of thousands of pounds each yearfor British charities – this small effort is apart of our duty to serve mankind.
Loyalty • Freedom • Equality
Respect • Peace
As Ahmadi Muslims, we believe that wemust abide by these values in our daily lifeas they help foster a sense of unity, cohesion, harmony and peace the worldover.
“...I must say that every Ahmadi who lives in Great Britain is anextremely loyal citizen of the country and loves it; and this is becauseof the teachings of our Prophet [Muhammad] (peace and blessings of
Allah be upon him) who instructed us that love of one’s country is anintegral part of one’s faith.” Address delivered at the House of Commons, Oct. 2008 by
Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad – Head of the worlwide Ahmadiyya Muslim community.
ISLAM: A fresh perspective
Since its inception in 1889, the Ahmadiyya Muslim
community has been leading a global effort to revive the true, peaceful message of Islam as taught by the Holy ProphetMuhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
This revival of the true Islamic teachings was initiated by thefounder of the community, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace
be upon him), who said:
“The mission for which I have been appointed is to remove that growing gap in the
relationship between God and His creation and replace it once again with the relationship
of love and sincerity; and by allowing the truth to manifest itself, cause religious wars and
discord to end and thus lay the foundation for peace.”
The founder of the
Ahmadiyya Muslim community
He claimed under Divine guidance to be the Promised Messiah and the Imam Mahdi, the advent of whom was being awaited in this age by all major religions.

Belief in One GodAll prophets and all religions were sentfrom the same source – the One GodWho is the Creator of all and Whocontinues to communicate withmankind. In Arabic He is called Allahbut whatever term is used in variousreligions according to Islam they allrefer to the same single God.
Belief in all prophetsGod sent His prophets to guide peopleto Him and to create peace amongstmankind. Islam requires Muslims tobelieve in all prophets withoutexception and to refer to them withrespect and honour.
Belief in all Divine teachingsAll Divine religions were true at theirsources. However, over time theirteachings were eroded and forgotten, but God continued to send prophetsto guide people back to Him.
