News from the Principal
Welcome parents, families and students to a new school year.
Some important dates to remember:
School Information Night:
Tonight!!! K/1/2 – 5:00pm
3/4/5/6 – 5:20pm
Distance Education – 5:40pm
We hope to see everyone there. We will be talking about how the classes
will work this year and how you can be a partner in your child’s education.
Discovery Day, 17th February.
The fantastic Kelly has put together the helper’s roster. Your name not on
it? Want to help? Get in contact with Kelly, the school or just give a hand
on the night. Many hands make light work and this is a great fundraiser for
the school.
Swimming Carnival
We will be holding 2 practice sessions next week prior to the carnival. To
be sun safe we will be holding these practices first thing in the morning on
Wednesday and Thursday. Please assist by sending your child to school
ready to go. The swimming carnival will be held the following week.
We need parent and family helpers to ensure that these practice sessions
and the carnival is a success. Ms Hemmings will be sending a note home
shortly requesting help. Please put your name down for 1 or all days and
help us to make this the best carnival yet!.
Lynne Takacs
Quote of the Day: Virtually nothing is impossible in this world if you just
put your mind to it and maintain a positive attitude.
School Captains Report
Everything has started really well to the new school
year! This year there are 5 new students in Kinder-
garten [ Liana, Emmie, Art, Bronte and I-Chien].
They are going really well at school. Everyone is
getting used to school routines and new classmates.
As School Captain, I recently spoke on behalf of the
school at the Australia Day ceremony, about what it
means to be an Australian. Luckily, there were only
about 20 people, so I wasn’t nervous. The new prin-
cipal, Mrs Takacs, has been really nice and has been
introducing new programs to 3-6. The first week and
a half of term 1 has gone really well, and I can’t wait
for the weeks to come.
