Experience It! California's Capital
Think about Sacramento’s past and the Gold Rush immediately comes to mind:
dusty miners, saloons and the chance to strike it rich. But that’s only part of the
story! This hidden gem of a city has a rich and varied past. Native Americans
called this region home for thousands of years. The area’s abundant resources
made it the perfect place to settle. From early Spanish explorers to the days of
pioneer John Sutter, many have come here seeking a better life. Today,
Sacramento offers visitors a relaxed and cosmopolitan atmosphere. From the
beautiful capitol building to the frontier energy of Old Sacramento, it’s the
perfect hub from which to experience that northern California lifestyle.
