    logialpes is an easy to use software, which allows defining quickly and easily an automatic capacitor bank for reactive energy compensation. the operations follow on logically.the software allows quoting capacitor banks up to 900 kvar (standard and H types), 760 kvar for saH standard class and 800 kvar for saH reinforced class. for capacitors banks with higher power, capacitors banks with solid state reactors (alpistatic), or capacitor banks with specific detuned reactors (135 Hz), please consult us.

    intel pentium iv processor or equivalent running windows 2000 or Xp, 512 mb of ram recommended.

    Close all open applications. launch the installation program . follow the instructions on the screen.

    to start logialpes, double-click on the icon located on the desktop or select logialpes in the menu: Start > Programs > LogiAlpes

    a window will propose the following options:1 select your language to make a quotation:

    French, English, Spanish, Russian.

    2 New project: starts a new study.

    3 Existing project: opens a an existing study.

    4 Documentation: opens pdf files containing theoretical information about compensation of reactive energy and catalogue.

    5 Exit: exists logialpes

    2.1 Advise electrical characteristics of the installation and define capacitor bank

    Capacitor bank power can be defined in two ways.

    select left folder: Electrical installation data.

    fill in the active power of the installation ex: 560 kw,

    fill in the initial cos phi value (measured), or the tan phi ex: 0,70 (cos),

    fill in the targeted cos phi value, or the tan phi ex : 0,93 (cos),

    the power of capacitor bank will be automatically displayed: ex : 350 kvar,

    e if the installation contains harmonic receptors, tick the box and key in the total power of these receptors in kva or kw ex : 100 kw,

    the power of transformers is displayed by default, but you can modify it ex : 630kva,

    the type of capacitor bank is displayed ex: H type (reinforced type),

    in the right window, click on mCb if the capacitor bank has to include a mCb protection.

    fill in the power of the capacitor bank: ex:350 kva, then the next steps are is the same as the one described above.

    Click on Solution (right bottom corner) or on Given solution (top folder) to get the complete details of the capacitor bank.

    you will have to choose between two solutions: fully equipped cabinet solution (see page 6), solution detailed by components (see page 7).

    2.2.1 fully equipped cabinet solution by default you will obtain a preview of fully equipped cabinet solution.

    for our example the description of the cabinet is displayed with the following informations:

    part number mH35040, circuit breaker rating 700 amp (part or not of the cabinet),

    cables section (2 x 120mm2) Cu, (2 x 185mm2) al,

    a picture of the cabinet.

    this option is useful for panel builders that buy components and equip enclosures manufactured by themselves.

    TIP

    2.2.2 Solution detailed by componentsby clicking in the right window, a split of the cabinet is detailed, with the different racks, the power regulator and the mCb if it has been selected.

    for our example:

    pH5040 : quantity 1, pH7540 : quantity 4, alptec 7.400 : quantity 1, dpX 1250 set at 700 amp (if the option of mCb has been selected).

    when the capacitor bank has been defined, click on customer (right top corner) to save your project.

    select an existing customer or create a new customer.

    to create a new customer:

    Click on New customer and fill in his details: ex : smitH eleCteriC

    Click on New contact and fill in his details: ex : mr smith

    finally click on Select: the software comes back to the solution window

    the summary of the study is displayed (pdf format):

    name of project, quotation number, Customer details, Characteristics of the installation, technical specifications (including components when this option has been chosen).

    the summary can be printed or sent by e-mail.

    in case of an error (wrong step or incorrect information inside different fields) the software will display an error message (red colour text) advising how the handle the error.
