About our Event

Local companies and privates can support Grassroot 2018 project to have big visibility amongkids and families around Lahti, Hollola, Heinola, Ahtiala, Renkomaki and Pajulahti. We will have7 locations with 2 training sessions per week, for a total of 5 weeks. After this, a Tournamentwith all the participants will be organized in ISKU Areena in Lahti, with presence of allorganizers, teachers, kids with families, sponsors and Pelicans Hockey players. Total amout ofkids taking part to the Project is estimated in 200+ with parents/family coming along duringsessions and final Tournament.

Kids will first learn how to skate and our Hockey coaches will prepare weekly training plans forevery age group and abilities. Our main goal is to teach sports to kids as crucial part of theirsocial and physical life with emphasis on Ice Hockey; we want the kids to have fun and theparents to see progression in their kids learning, making new friends and new experiences; weare working hard to make this to be the best Grassroot Project the University has ever had.

We are divided in 7 groups that are Management,Marketing, Equipment, Budget, Coaching,Organization, Tournament. We are 29 organizingstudents, including 2 Erasmus Students fromSpain and 7 LOT students of Haaga-HeliaUniversity of Applied Sciences. The remaining 20students are part of Degree Programme 16 inSports Coaching and Management of Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, VierumakiCampus.

We have an Official Website, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Snapchat profiles and we willpromote the event also on Local Newspaper, Radio, TV and of course in all schools of this areawith Flyers, Stickers and Posters.

Your company will gain big visibility and will help us to cover our travelling expenses to movefrom our Campus in Vierumaki every session; it will also cover the ice-times booking fees, ISKUAreena booking and goods/equipment expenses for the sessions and final tournament; it willpartially cover our clothing expenses as well.

As said, we will produce our personal Degreee Programme jacket, hat and hoodie that will beworn by us students during the next three years of studies in Vierumaki Campus (500+ Finnishstudents and 50+ International Students) and during our coaching projects in the Lahti-Hollola-Heinola area.





Our current Project Partners are Vierumaki Oy, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences,Pelicans and Kiekkoreipas Oy.
