Tilting table

The purpose of this machi-ne is to place the sheets of glass in vertical position, to tilt them in horizontal po-sition and to facilitate the operator by making woo-den caps packs.dedeedeedeen n nn n cacacacacacaccapspspspspspsp ppppppacacacacacacaa ks.

AUTOMATIC STORA-GE SYSTEM AND END CAPS AREAThe purpose of this system is to automatically handle packs of sheets glass, de-posited on racks, coming from float cutting line, and therefore facilitate opera-tors with wooden caps and deposit the packs onto the racks ready for shipping.

After packing has been car-ried out, the glass is taken from the crane and depo-sited on the rack ready for shipment.The End Caps area has three tilting units, which are designed and manu-factured to obtain semi- automatic tilting of glass packs from sub-vertical to

horizontal position. The structure is composed of electrically welded tubo-annulars, properly sized to support loads. Two li-near actuators controlled by electric motors with encoders enable arm tip-ping. Two further linear actuators, also controlled by electric motors, rotate the supporting heels to put them in operational condi-tions.The bases are coated with adiprene to allow correct contact with the glass.A hydraulic fall arrest sy-stem stops the machine in position when carrying out maintenance.

Storage system

The purpose of following item is to stock the pro-ducts before and after packing, and the storage is managed by plant su-pervision software. The system has a standard size of 40 meters by 20 meters (customizable), working height of approximately 6 meters, and manages 25 positions.

3000KG«gripper»Loading Crane

The 3000KG«gripper» Lo-ading Crane takes the glass packs from the rack, moves them to packing position,

tilts them onto the tilting table, and then takes them back after packing and de-posits them on the racks for shipment.This bridge crane type machine has all X, Y, Z translation axes controlled by encoders that ensure correct positioning during work. The warehouse ma-nagement software enables the loading of the types of packages to be processed, the gripping arm is com-posed of 11 controlled axes in brushless solution to en-sure the proper gripping of the processed glass packs. With this standard option the maximum weight of glass packs is 3,000 kilos.

Electrical and automation system

The innovative control sy-stem consists of three con-trol panels, each dedicated to managing individual items.The system is connected to an Ethernet network allowing the highest stan-dards of efficiency and in-terfacing.The whole system manage-ment has been developed

with Siemens WINCC flexible system and it’s installed inside the supervising PC panel.A Wifi touch panel also allows the management of individual Item in manual mode.The Wifi solution enables operators to move within the plant and perform all controls on bo-ard, both maintenance operations and eventual resets in ‘home position’.Two Access Points ensure complete coverage in the production area.
