WE provide a range of services including: information about what is out there to help people links to what a person wants assistance to develop goals and work towards achieving them support to access the community social outings for socially isolated people support to discharge from hospital and recover safely at home short-term breaks for carers short-term help for people with cancer case management for Lifetime Care and Support participants. HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? A CONTRIBUTION towards the cost of the services will be negotiat- ed, however no-one will be refused a service if they are unable to con- tribute. T HE Carenne School motto “Quality Education Towards Independence” promotes excellence in teaching and learning while recognising the need for students to maintain dignity and inde- pendence. Individual Education Plans are developed with input from each student’s family or carers. There is a strong student welfare focus and a balanced academic, functional and recreational curriculum which allow students to achieve success, happiness and high self-esteem. Communication, socialisa- tion and physical well-being are promoted in a highly sup- portive, happy and secure learning environment. Students have access to a wide range of extra-curricu- lar activities. There is a strong feeling within the school community that the success achieved by students with additional needs can be best attained in a specialised setting like Carenne. The Bathurst community provides a solid support base for the school, with individu- als, businesses and corpora- tions contributing. Carenne School strongly values student learning, a professional and caring staff and strong links with its fam- ilies and community. B ATHURST Information and Neighbourhood Centre (BINC) has been providing a Home Modification and Maintenance Service for more than 20 years. The service assists frail older people, and people with a dis- ability, to remain at home by pro- viding affordable home modifi- cations that make the home safer and easier to manage daily tasks, helping people to maintain independence. The types of modifications include adjusting bathrooms and toilets by replacing a bath with a hobless shower, installing hand rails and relocating hand basins. The service can also provide modifications to kitchens, par- ticularly the lowering of bench tops and creating wheel-in space under sinks for people in wheel- chairs. Access ramp installations are another adjustment that helps to make the home more accessible. All modification are made to occupational therapist specifica- tions that best meets individual requirements and comply with Australian Standards. The friendly and experienced staff are specialists in home safe- ty and provide quality work that continually attracts positive cus- tomer feedback. Contact 6332 2106 for further information.
