Bottled Water AvailableAs a reminder, gallon jugs of water are avail-

able for purchase at the Village Café & Bakery. This should be particularly helpful during hurricane season for those of you who find it difficult to bring gallons of water home from the local grocery stores. However, due to storage limitations in the Village Café & Bakery, we will only be able to maintain a day-to-day sup-ply. Therefore, if you are depend-ing upon purchasing water for use in the event of a hurricane, it is necessary that you stock-up before a hurricane is eminent.

Port Tampa Bay Educational TourThrough its partnership with The Florida Aquari-

um, Port Tampa Bay provides free 75-minute Educa-tional Harbor Tours twice a week. These tours assist the community with understanding the economic importance of Port Tampa Bay, which handles more than 37 million tons of cargo a year and is considered Florida’s largest port. Learn about cruise operations, what some of the port’s major tenants bring through the port, and about its history in the community.

A trip to Port Tampa Bay for an Educational Har-bor Tour is planned on Wednesday, June 23rd. The Village bus will depart at 7:15 a.m. We will meet in front of The Florida Aquarium and walk to the boat as a group. Please note: there will not be a bathroom available until we board the boat at 9:00 a.m.

Passengers must be able to cross the gang plank from the wharf to the boat and back on their own or with assistance from another person in our group. Due to the changing tide, the gang plank can poten-tially require up to six steps to board and disembark from the vessel. Wheelchairs can be brought on board the vessel after guests have physically tra-versed the gang plank. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended also as there is a five to eight-min-ute walk from the dock to the parking garage.

NOTE: DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, ALL PASSENGERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK/FACE COVERING THROUGH-OUT THE ENTIRETY OF THE TOUR.

After our informative boat tour, it’s off to Village Inn in Tampa for some breakfast or lunch “on your own”. If interested, please sign-up using the Activ-ity Sign-Ups Lottery System beginning Monday, June 7th.
